Sweet thread!

Wish we could get to the cape this season. So far it's looking very unlikely. Crazy how many shark sightings have happened this year.

Favorite news story, "beachgoers watch great white shark eating seal".

The shark was may 100ft offshore...yikes.
Thanks! It's been crazy for maybe seven or eight years since they had that fatal great white attack down the Cape! 😲🦈 That's why I'm now beachwalker and no longer oceanswimmer! LOL

I still swim for exercise in the ocean. But lately it has become somewhat difficult to feel super at ease doing solo swims in the ocean. Daytime, not even talking about dusk or dawn. Not always, but sometimes you really get this sense of foreboding as you swim. Like there's something big near you in the water, but you can't see it yet.

..that's because they are there! We can't really deny it anymore, and I know what you mean by that feeling, that's why I just chill on the beach now! I saw one shark once in the mid-70s right on Revere Beach. It seemed small (ish) maybe 4-5' but not sure as I only saw the fin about 30 feet offshore it broke the surface for about 15 or 20 ft and was gone

One time surfing Hatteras Frisco Pier - a porpoise can right up to me from behind, caught a glimpse out the corner of my eye - kept feeling like something was there watching me. Soon as I saw the porpoise I was paddling like a mad man towards shore feet in the air too. Got 10 meters past my son then yelled ))shark((

Turned around to see him getting eaten and saw the porpoise. lol My freaking heart was pounding scared the beegeebers outta me.

I swam with sharks in Hawaii a few times (Reef sharks) 6-8 ft long the locals I was with said not to worry we're not their food and just don't provoke. My 12 year old son was with us on a dive in Hawaii on a boogie board with sharks 6-8 ft below him happy as heck as I was scrambling to catch up. Sharks scare the shit out of us for good reason, if at anytime they'd of wanted a snack on us there's nothing we could have done. A great White lol Me shitting my suit upon seeing one while in the water would likely be detrimental to my well being.

My summer girls always get the hardest runs because of the heat. I keep saying I'm going to switch to LEDs for the season to cut some of it and yet another summer goes by :/ I think next year I'll just keep mother plants over the summer
