Family, how reliable is the butane hash oil and shatter sources? Is it possible that unknown chemicals were introduced (and not properly removed) during the making of the BHO?
As reliable as I can hope. They do proper testing, stay up to code, pass inspections etc.

I mean it's always a possibility. I just dont see how dozens of other ppl can partake in the exact same batch and all feel great.

I once had a allergic reaction from simply smoking weed someone grew and gave to me. I had to go to the doctor as I turn bright red from my waist down. I have to think there was a chemical/fertilizer that effected me, but was not effecting other users. Make sure the doc knows that butane was involved.

Pulling for you and your wife!!

I recently started a gig making edibles for a concentrate business. They give me their 2nds, and in return I make them edibles and take a %.

I am not new to Canna-biz nor culture, and have never had this happen to me before, so I need forum help ASAP....

I've been making 15mg gummies over the past 2 weeks and for the last 3 days, my wife and I have been doing QC on the batches. We typically test by consuming 50mg worth of gummies, and see if that gives the nice warm stone by hour 2. This has been pretty fool-proof over the past 3 months with this recipe. I use 800mg thc/55'ish gummies.

Well last night things changed, we each had ate roughly 75-100mg throughout the evening. I felt legit... my wife was also have a blast in her own way, super spiritual and a little over the top.

Around 10:30pm I decide to smoke a bowl and call it a night, my wife has fallen asleep about 10 minutes ago. I try to wake her to see if she wants to join.... no answer.... I shrug it off and go smoke a bowl.

Come back about 15 minutes later and she is asleep on the bed, fully clothed so I decide to try and wake her to get undressed (she hates sleeping in day clothes).... no answer.... hmmm, interesting.... I give her a firm shake to confirm shes breathing, all good, still no answer.... I decide to go to sleep.

Cut to 7am, i wake up, shower, then go back in to see if she is awake, no luck. She tosses and turns likes shes in the deepest sleep of her life.... I even stood her up and got her undressed and she didnt even blink, like no ones home.

Naturally I begin to freak ALL THE WAY out. Then my dad suggested she may have been under-hydrated and constipated, and possibly is experiencing a massive 3 day dose of edibles at once....

Either way, my wife is still sleeping beauty, I'm freaking out and could really really use some advice. It's probably 12-13 total hours from ingestion.

Thanks in advance
Let me give her a kiss, she'll wake up
;)

I am hesitant to say much beyond this and this only, western mindsets are not meant to awaken the Kundalini Spirit. What she has experienced is nothing abnormal for those who open doors they have no business opening. I mean no harm or offence saying that, it should be very easy for you to research what others have to say about it, and what it is, and what it can do.

I have been following up this. thread. with great compassion and understanding for your situation. One of my closest loved ones had this exact same experience. I will not go over the details, but this is not caused by cannabis. Schizophrenia is an inherent gene that passes on, it can be expressed further with cannabis, but other stimuli can also trigger an episode. The best you can do is support her with all of your love as you are doing, find the best psych care you can find, and she will be ok. This moment can be scary, but we are all here for each other, and we are here for you. Stay safe, take it easy on yourself, and proceed with how you are taking care of this situation, Be strong, keep us updated.

I agree with you 100%, but she is not a westerner. She is an adopted mixed race from EUR-Asia. She just got her green card a year ago. We had been saving up to do a year in India so she can learn about her family/history.

Update: 51 hours from ingestion.

We've seen several doctors and 3 psych evals. Did a 2nd CT also. Literally nothing.

They all agree that she is having a substance OD, and is experiencing full-on psychosis in waves.

Today has been a ride friends. I truly dont know what I would've done without you guys. The whole world tells you you're a dipshit xunt if you call 911 over edibles.

Honestly I think it saved her life, and I owe that to you guys.

She has waves of lucidity where she completely and entirely understands and can coherently talk about what's happening.

They discharged us from the hospital at 4pm. Literally on our way out of the lobby, she ripped her socks off, pushed me out of the way then ran out into the snow and started dancing and yelling.

Immediately re-admitted her, against her will this time.

We calmed her down and gave her some water, and we laid together in the cot talking about how scary this all is. She is immensely shamefull.

We fell asleep until 830pm, woke for a few minutes and I immediately noticed she wasnt home, lights on but no one driving, then the nurse came in and did a bunch of tests, all checks out, minus the fact shes in an episode again. Wont talk, respond. Does these super crazy smile and stares.

930pm - she is trying to escape the room, we have to hold her down to sedate her.

940pm - as the sedative kicks in, she snaps back. Her lucid self is super drunk acting, but lucid. She cries and tells me how sorry she is. I cry and embrace her, reminding her she is my everything. She dozes off hard by 945.

Conclusion of today - She is processing some substance, perhaps loads of thc (more info on this later, turns out weed DOES compound in the brain).

Her waves of clarity increased in frequency and duration throughout the day, which is why we tried to leave. But that one episode in the lobby made me realize that all she would have to do is open the car door on the highway and roll out.

Psych docs wont take her because that's not the issue. Med docs all say time is going to be the only thing that helps.

Thank fixking god I live in michigan and no one has to go to jail anymore for this shit.

Fucking sucks fellas. Fucking sucks.

ADD -
They got another 2L of urine out of her. (Shes been drinking water now).

And she also passed a stool big enough to break a windshield.

The no-shit crazy part. When she sat down to shit, it induced another episode. She couldn't even wipe after, just pulled up her hospital diaper and rolled onto the bed.

If she had 3 days worth of 50mg edibles in her system, then took a hero dose....
Yep, I'm seeing some connections to constipation/dehydration and horrible adverse effects with edibles.

UPDATE: 56 hours after ingesting

It's 245am. The sedative they gave my wife at 10pm wore off and she wakes up.

She immediately begins to cry and repeatedly say how sorry she is for hurting everyone and being in this position. I embrace her, cry and let her know that everyone here loves her and cant wait to see her smile.

After 10 minutes of sobbing, she quiets down and goes silent. I decide to ask her some basic questions and she just ignores me, clearly lost in deep thought.

I get up to go pee, and as I return I can see her sitting up on the bed, now with all her clothes removed. Immediately I call for the nurse, I know what to expect.

By the time the nurse made it over, she once again was naked trying to force her way into the hall, saying "let's just go home, we can walk right out".

The nurse rushes to get a benzo, lorazepam, and calm her down. It took myself and 2 large nurses to coach her back into bed calmly and accept the meds.

Meds go in, 5 minutes later she says shes sorry. I ask if she knew where she was, she nodded and cried a little then fell asleep.

We have another psych eval this afternoon, they may hold her against her will in the psych ward.

Now I have to figure out how I call her family and friends, all overseas, and let them know what happened....

Update: 60 total hours from ingestion.

She just woke up, its 715am. She starts to cry, then calms down. Shes fully lucid now. She explains exactly what she was experiencing and why she was being weird. She said it all felt fake like a tv show and she didnt know who to trust.

Literally the deepest trip-state I've ever seen.

We had a great convo for about 15 minutes and I got her to drink some juice.

I've called for a nurse to confirm her state.

While lucid, she is very slightly drifting at the end of long sentences.

Observations:

1. Her body odor is unlike anything I've ever smelled. It clearly smells like some rank weed.

2. When you ingest cannabis, it immediately gets treated like a poison by your body. Your liver and kidneys go into overdrive, trying to flush it out physically as much as possible.
(Note: she had been dehydrated and constipated for 2 days)

3. When the liver and kidneys aren't doing a good enough job, the THC is forced into the fat cells of the body, where they bind and break down extremely slowly, like weeks slow.

4. Your body recognizes this, and induces a fever, full on sweating to purge out the THC.

5. This has adverse effects, as being dehydrated and then inducing exodus of body fluids is a double whammy, not to mention the now mobile THC making it's way back to the brain.

I'm certainly glad to hear that everything worked out, slowly but surely. Despite sending spacecraft out of the solar system, and decoding the human genome, nobody really knows exactly how the brain works... and more omportantly, how to fix it when it hs problems. The endocannabinoid (pardon spelling) system in the brain and body aren't well understood, but can have a profound effect on consciousness, both normal and altered. In any event, it's great to hear things are getting better.

Glad to hear this was a bad trip and not a serious medical issue. If you are ever in this situation again: first, remind them they are tripping
Second, control the environment, soft lights, soft music, warmth
Third, amuse them with toys and visuals, a flashlight through a shotglass or prism and just ride it out.
Edit: no candles!

Follow the suggestions of Dan Akroyd on a very old SNL skit. Someone was losing it on acid and he said to turn the lights down and put the Alman Brothers on the record player (Pre CD and digital era).
