Went back through my pics and this one was the first emergence of pistils, june 23, I have been counting from june 8 when I flipped the lights, 2 weeks and 1 day differance. I am now officially at week 7 instead of 9. Makes perfect sence and actually pushes flower time closer to the seed seller estimates.View attachment 1167250
Dang. I remember the day I flipped my lights to 12/12 but I got no clue when my pistils came out. Definitely something I'll remember for next time. As long as I get things done before Thanksgiving I am good. I need medication to deal with the inlaws.

Just subtract 2 weeks from where you are now. Now I don’t feel like I’m havin to push em past the “due date” quite so much, its the end that I always struggled with I know why now

Schwer, when you were deciding on strains for the first grow, what were some of your runner ups?

I didn't really have too many. For me the the biggest obstacle was talking myself down from what I wanted to do into something more manageable. I wanted to grow a couple of indica or indica dominate hybrids alongside some sativas or satriva-dominate hybrids. Sounded great to me, more variety! People here talked me out of that and I'm glad they did.

I decided to start with indicas because they're typically a little easier (or so "they" say) and shorter. I settled on the BBK right away because my best bud smoked it once and loved it, and I thought being able to hand him an ounce of BKK that I grew would be fun. Then I narrowed my 2nd strain search to something that would grow to a similar size and flower in a similar time frame. Didn't take me long to settle on trying one of the Purples, so went with GDP.

And oh by the way, even with doing all that homework I still had to deal with challenges associated with height and growth differences. Made me really glad I didn't go with my first plan, lol.

Hmm, first emergence in general or just on top there? I only ask because I have this one from day 7.

I would think that qualifies as preflower, I would look for the start of the “cotton balls” on top. I think the point is not to count the time it takes to transform to flower after the flip. A week or two makes a huge difference at the end and even a couple of days of the most important part of flower period growth can make a huge difference in the final product

So far my plan of leavin em the hell alone cept for routine maintenance is payin off although its gettin a little more crowded every day. Risers should be here tomorrow I’ll wait till their dry and raise em a little that should give me a little more room to spread em out more. The clones spend the perty days outside I don’t name em but I got a runt too that one will probly hermie I’ll have to watch it

Did some things today per my plan, got the risers under em, they were dry and light I only had to fully remove 1 plant, took the opportunity to clean things up a bit. I still can’t get over how the white hairs start poppin a few minutes after the waterin starts. Gonna see if they do much droopin on their own before I tie anything back the stems are gettin woody and loosin their flexibility. Week 8 in a couple days trics are lookin cloudy but still lots of shiners and the brown hairs havent receded much. Onwards we go towards week 9

I snooped your grow there should be a button on the back of your thermometer to switch it from celsius to fahrenheit, they got a little stretchy on ya that can be somewhat controlled by adjusting the lights so they don’t reach for it so much, lookin good though you will work out the details as you progress just keepin em alive and maintaining your environment is a very good start

Yeah, that was my 1st. Nothing was "right" from the beginning. Environment, watering, lights, nutes etc. I, like many I'm sure, would've NEVER have thought this hobby was as involved (can't come up with most descriptive word) as it is. The height did get outta control, among other aspects of the grow. I ended up with 4-6 ozs. Per plant, so not a total failure. Just started my 2nd grow. Couldn't have made it to harvest without this forum !!! Tks. To all !!!

Gettin accustomed to growin takes some time and the more observant you are the better, learn to read the plant, learn the different stages, see how they react to any givin action or changes. I am learnin that less is more, give them only what they need and give them time to do their thing, you cannot “make” them grow just make them happy and they will grow like crazy! Oh and don’t over feed and let the pots dry out good between water/feedin. Start your flower cycle count when they start to flower not when you flip the lights. Go with photoperiod plants autos arent good for learnin
