I used to get the small pitcher of beer for $1.25 in the military; and they used to make this thing they called a Long Island;
vodka, gin, rum, tequila, Triple Sec, and lemon juice in a quart sized glass. Mmm.... fruity; a sort of woman's drink that would knock you over.
You drank two of those; and you were finished for the night; I think they were $2 or $2.50 each. My head hurts just thinking about it. Navy exchange bars; crazy cheap. When I started smoking cigs; they were $0.48 a pack in 1975;
and they even sold them to 8 year old's back then.
The good ol days... (except they wasn't always good) Capitalism in action.
