Just was in there doing a little work, girls are looking very good... Not too stinky for anyone looking for low odor strains. Yesterday accidently dropped the PH in the rez to 5.1 and was too lazy to change the resv again but all is ok today and PH is up to 5.6 already.

Not going to give the hempys any more nutes except for the GH Ripen (which does have nutes in it). Will probably start the ripen tomorrow and plan on taking down the hempys around day 54 or 55. I really hope this ES is good, i am gettting very excited... Should be sampling her in 3 more weeks...

JayBee - I read through this post and just wanted to drop you a line. I talked to the Doc about this strain because I had an interest in growing it. He told me personally that he never feeds with a higher PPM than 800 ever. He also told me that the 36 hour onset will allow the plants to finish at the 45 day mark that they were dialed in at with no declination of yield at all. He also said they like to feed at a little higher PH during flowering (hydro like 5.8-6.0) I have not grown this strain yet and am just relaying what was told to me personally. I hope this helps in your next grow. - Malachi

Malachi- thanks so much for the great info, really apreciate it. I have been driving myself crazy thinking about 1500ppm! Basically my observations and instincts had me thinking to keep the EC/PPM low, but was thinking about the 1500ppm post and wondering if i was losing out by underfeeding so that this week i brought the ec up higher. However to be honest does not look like the system really loved the higher ec and i was already planning to bring it back down over this week. I have generally been keeping them at 1.6-1.8 whichi is pretty much 800ppm. So makes me feel better about this grow and about my instincts as a gardner.

I have noticed that with Canna Aqua nutes the PH will generally go to where the plants want it and plants have been keeping the PH exactly at 5.9-6.1 making me believe that was ideal PH for them, and your info backs that up. So again, a BIG thanks to you and the Doc for the spot on info.

For the 36 hour dark period i will try this next time, interesting Doc G is the only one who talks about this, not seen any other growers mention doing this.

For future growers of ES the key is low nute strength for sure. Very, very low nutes and you will do well with the ES. When she is young high nutes in hydro system can very quickly be fatal, when she is mature she can handler the stronger nutes but does not seem to be super happy about it. Confirmed in flower she likes PH on higher side around 6.0

Many thanks!

JB

JayBee- NP that's what these forums are all about, helping each other grow. Like I said I have no hands on experience growing this strain inparticular, but I am glad that the info that the Doc gave is dead on. I am going to go ahead and order up some of these beans, seems like she would be an ideal girl for a SOG. Did you get the femenised or regular? What was your germ rate?

Right on, if you get these and grow them out with the 36 hour dark period keep us updated. I bought the fem seeds and germ rate was 100%. Only thing i didnt like was no freebies, i mean guys are spending 200 dollars throw them a free bean! Spend 50 dollars at Sannies and not only does the dude send free beans but he will throw in spongepots, starter nutes, and other goodies.

This is a very nice thread on the ES you have here JayBee. I been growing docs ES for years . Its a very consistent strain to grow . If you find some of the shorter Pheno types those are the ones that have more of the Iranian indica in them . Good luck with her . Hope you don't mind a couple of buds pics of the ES . Just to get a idea of what it looks like finishing and dried.

I dont mind at all BB, infact I apreciate the nice pics! Few questions for you- You growing inside our outside? I am noticing the purple leaves and wonder if that is from cooler temps as it seems my leaves never turn purple... How long do you flower for?

For the smoke, is the ES as strong as a Kush?

Ok, time for me to do a little work in the garden... :)

These pics were from the outdoors this past summer . They had a good flush and also the cooler nights gave them a nice purple color as well .

I have gown them indoors too. I usually let them go sixty days . I have done the 36 hour thing but its been so long since I did it I remember the outcome .

This strain has every bit as much potency as any of the kushes out there IMO . What some peeps don't like about it is that its flav does not get real high marks .

This thread rocks! Love that pic BB, really makes me want to grow outdoors...

When i started with these seeds there really was not much info available except for few threads from some other forums where newbies were killing their seedlings with too much nutes. Hopefully from now on anyone who wants to grow Endless Sky will be able to find this thread and use it for a reference.

Thanks for all the great posts and pics everyone!

That outdoor pic looks dank BB, judging by the leaves on October 5 I would have to guess that was grown somewhere in New England or Canada. I love those climates because it really makes the colors of every strain really come to life. Although the strain selection is limited indicas really love that weather.

Yes I'm from NE Malachi . The ES finished the second week of OCT with very little mold . Its a very easy plant to grow and not finicky at all . One of the most important things you can do as a outdoor grower is to have your plants get that early morning sun so the buds dry out quickly from the morning dew . That's the best way to fight the mold .

Jaybee ,
I know what you mean about the little info there is about ES . Since doc claims it to be his most popular strain . Hope you will continue with your grow journal.

BB- Not trying to get off the subject but I am originally from New England and started my growing adventures in the great outdoors battling the frosts and mold of the New England falls. I have had the best luck with Durban Poison and Hollands Hope. The Durban will finish in the middle of September and the Hollands Hope towards the end. The Hollands Hope is much better smoke, but commercially speaking the Durban can be pulled Sept 5 if need be, and yields 8-12 oz if you put your clones in the ground memorial day weekend and give them supplimental nutrients.

Jaybee- Sorry for getting off topic, but I just wanted to share my New England outdoor experience with Black Bart.

How do you know they are not in the fems? I deffinately have one plant that is much smaller than all the rest, i would call it a runt for sure.

No problem with the O/T new england talk, i lived in Vermont for some years, smoked a lot of outdoor vt purps before the purps was good...

Couple more pics on the way...

Flowering along...

So, here are a few pics just taken today, from the tent with the ebb and flo bucket system. No pics of the hempys today.

Latest plan for the system is to take these 60 days. Hempy buckets plan is about 54, 55 days. Working EC levels in system down to 1.5-1.7 and will also add some cannazyme but that is it. I checked PH today and it was 6.2 so left it there and will lower it tomorrow when i add more nutes. Will not change the rez tomorrow, plan to do that next weekend, but i could change my mind on that. Hempy buckets have started on GH Ripen. Nothing else added.

JayBee- Pics look good, but I am sure the camera doesn't do the plants justice.
