There are a lot of differences between commercial growing and growing for the love of the plant. These differences show up in the product.

We all know dispensary weed isn't as good as what we produce ourselves. That's why we grow it. The REASON dispensary weed isn't as good? The answer to that means nothing to me.

Creepers are narrow blade drug plants from the near the equator/tropics,they usually grow where it's humid,They don't really develop a centralized cola but many big ones everywhere. It's a rare pheno but still grows in the wild.They grow more like a vine and sometimes branches touch the ground and root like a cutting. They are hard to reproduce and no one I have heard of offers a true creeper in seed form ,breeding attempts have not been able to reproduce them and have subsequent generations of creepers, it seems to breed out seed after seed.

Same thing happened in Michigan. Back before 2018, medical caregivers supplied the bulk of the dispensary weed available at your favorite shop. Caregivers took pride in their products and for the most part, top shelf was top shelf. In 2018 recreational was made legal. From that point everything changed.

My answer was to start growing my own again. I don't know Florida laws. I do know Michigan is pretty lenient allowing 12 plants per adult household. If you're able to grow, its the easiest way to get back to the quality standards you like.

same situation here in Washington, except it's still illegal to grow recreationally (fuckem). If you want good product, you gotta support your local grower.

GOOD IDEA, HYDROPONICS IS STILL THE BEST WAY TO ACHEVE THE QUALITY LEVELS I'M AFTER AND THOSE GROWERS CAN BE HARDER TO MEET-UP WITH. BUT I'M LOOKING.

Here in Florida, we have Med Grade dispensaries everywhere. I've sampled several of the top shelf strains, all said to be the bomb, all listed with at least a 20.23 THC rating. Nothing loud, not even close. None of them ever expand in your lounges, and in my 55 years' experience if it does not expand in your lungs, it not worth smoking. Growers today would love for us to forget how weed used to be. All Premo expands. If it doesn't it has no business on the shelf period, much less at the top. I hate to say it but I've smoked babbied that gave me a better high.
Some of us smokers are waking up to the crap, returning to the street market, though that to has been affected by todays growing standards--rapid cash crops over quality control--and it's getting old.

I can't speak of your Florida dispensaries bud but up here in Nova Scotia the only legal weed is government weed & I refuse to buy from the same assholes that were throwing us in jail for years for what they now profit on..fkem. We also have a grey market that sells $66 - $120 oz cdn delivered.....Its pretty fking good taste smell all good.....

I think in the years you've been smoking your tolerance has increased to where what used to get your ripped now just doesn't cut it any longer....I'm 70 and I've been smoking pot for 55+ years its all about the taste now, nothing gets me real high any longer, when you smoke 10 grams+ a day its almost a tobacco fix now with 25% thc........I don't think I want the resin high when I smoke a joint, I just want that light buzz I get from weed.

Massachusetts dispensaries started as medical in 2014 then went rec in 2018. I’m medical with 50 years of toking behind me and 15+ years growing. 95% of all dispo weed is fair quality with most dry as shit and lacking great flavor. My home grown has more flavor and punch than what’s at the dispos (probably because of lots of sugar leaves left on buds). I also viewed dispo trichomes with jewelers loup and saw mostly clear trichs. Since getting my med card in 2016 I can probably count about 5 times when I bought an eighth (avg $50) that was so good that I went back for seconds within a day. A couple months ago I bought an eighth of GG4 on sale for $30 at a dispensary that’s about 50 miles from my home. After getting home and giving it a good taste a day later, I decided it was so good (aroma, high, bud quality, THC28%) that I returned the next day and bought 3 more eighths making for a half oz for $120. I estimate buying 20-30 varieties to get a good one. My homegrown goes for $100-$200/oz and is all bought by friends with medical cards. One of the only benefits of so many medical dispensaries opening in MA is that most give new customers discounts in the form of $50 off a $100 purchase for two separate purchases.

The weed we smoked in the 70's had 12 - 15% thc if we were lucky.....todays rocket scientists have pushed that upwards of 35% if you think you got higher then you were young and impressionable, your tolerance has increased. You may be getting shit weed I know not what you have in your area but in general weed today is far stronger than ever before. What I grow and smoke gets me as high as I need, any higher and functionality becomes an issue.

People who have smoked for example,real deal Thai, still remember and they didn't claim high thc % ,there's a lot more too it than thc %. The best weed was before prohibition,most current strains are rehashings of NL,Sk#1,blueberry etc
