I followed with great interest in SLGs thread.
He grew a beast for a 3x3. 💪
My room is 20X6 ! With room outside for equipment.
Even with my handicap in this type of grow I can't lose IMO? 🤔

I am a copper roof specialist.
Been doing metal roofin for over 20 years.
Lots of Historical restorations and even a National [ possibly International] first prize for my work!
I have worked on things like the first presidential library created [FDR Hyde park] and churches like I was the Lords only servant!

Standing seam copper roof?
Yea I solder flat locks also.
I use a torch though not an iron.
Roofs are not always friendly enviroments.
DSC 0473

This one was only soldered on the bottom course per Architect.
The dome posted previous was curved, tapered batten seams all made by hand on site.
DSC 0493

There are two of these and we made the finials minus the balls.

I love copper!
It loves me back I feel? 😲

Stupid question but do you get hit up to make some of those things they use out in the woods with fire?

Beautiful stuff bro, wow!

I've made my living in metal as well, mostly aluminum trim coil. I've had occasion to do copper over the years, was a lot of fun. I'm like smokedareefer in that I have a 10' brake and bend and fabricate everything onsite.

Bad habit like most of mine! I wake around 4am most days without alarm. Sometimes I have to travel 2 hours one way for work.
It comes from going to work 5+ days a week for well over 40 years.
I am at my best when I wake up. High the rest of the day! 🤷‍♂️
Been working 4 miles from home for last 2 months on a historic restoration project in the Saratoga State Park, so I have extra time on weekdays IN a.m.
Ya that commute will haunt you in your sleep for a while after you stop. I commuted 1.5 hrs each way for 7 years on a motorcycle, I was in an accident going home one night and broke a leg when a women ran a light and nailed me. After recoup it took me 2hrs each way for 2 more years in a small pickup.....I had reoccurring dreams about close calls or traffic jam nightmares for years afterwards....I still dream about my it once and a while

First thanks man!
Second you would not be the first to ask about a still I think they call it? 🤣
I have never made one but understand the principle and probably could.

I knew I loved you like a brother!😍
Sheet metal has been very good to me.
I owned and worked for myself with same partner for 10+ years. He and I now work at 'new company' [ 4 years] and still have my 10' tennsmith 14ga. , an 8 foot 22Ga. and the Tapco Max [ my first brake from 20 years ago!].Still have 4 foot shear,3 foot bar fold and fork truck. Many 24 inch coil left overs.
Most my work is in 24 Ga. 'Galvalume' and copper [ both 160z and 20 oz].
Metal work is an art, especially in the field.
The 8 footer, tapco and a 4' shear would arrive on site via trailer.
New company has new shop being built this year where I hope to move all that stuff plus my carpentry shop.
I would love to get my 30x50 shop and two car garage back! 😂

My first big job of the 'season' will be close to 2 hours one way. Maybe 2 months worth of it ! Still got 2 big ones close to home to do my part on first.

I love metal work, but not so much for buildings but cars. when I was young I worked for a place that made Midget and Sprint car chassis. The person that did the aluminum panels, tanks etc was always impressive to watch. I know aluminum will work harden does Cooper do it as well?

Does your boss cut you some slack on travel time or do they still want the straight 8 hours onsite?

Copper doesn't harden as I understand, but we work with relatively thin material. There is also at least two types soft and hard. We use hard.
The standard 16oz is 1 lb per square foot and roughly equal to 24Ga steel. That would be like .032 in aluminum sheet. Funny how all metals measure different for same thing.
As for my boss/ the owner, all is good at work.
My partner who I taught is the super and I am site foreman.
Small 4-8 man crew depending on schedule.
They don't mess with us, we are not union.
My crew all had jobs and were somewhere else 3 years ago.
My partner and I hand picked them and the shop fabricator[ 40 hour week in shop] and the company loves them all!
They actually treat us pretty well.
WE ain't the young boy squad...

wow , very nice set up @steamroller
Thanks man!
Good to see that some check who gives advice! 👍
I am being a slacker now but have all my stuff [ almost] to start if I just get motivated! 🤷‍♂️
Got enough to play and stay for long time but bored as shit! 🥴
I like to procrastinate in a positive way.
It gives me time to research, dream, and dwell on the issue before.
I am thinking now next grow will be with the 10 11l dutch buckets on one side of room and SOIL on the other!
I got the 44l buckets but the tops are so cheesy I won't give them a go without altering/ re-enforcing the top or growing with a medium like perlite in them. That will not be this grow the way I am going?

Wow! Late to the party again!!

Impressive to say the least. Is that a sea container you're growing in? Absolutely beautiful!!!
I think you are looking at the room I built? I post some funny shit sometimes~!
It is aprox.5x20 inside, insulated with a heater/air conditioner. Couple Ac fans with old school controller and a 6g humidifier with pretty decent control built in.
Still being a slacker.
Need to clean room and get my seeds going someday though.
I think there will be a couple weeks re building for tables and drainage and test running the system.
Maybe more?
I am really in no hurry.
People here helped me grow well so I hang out hoping to help others.

So it's a fixed room and not a sea container? I've built out a lot of sea containers that looks suspiciously like your room. Sorta.....

Yea simple room I framed up in my shop under a shelf!

That's nice right there! 💪
I am of the belief 'the more the merrier'.
Part of the no stress grow is to grow enough..
I could totally screw up 1/2 my room and still do well.
Fortunately, that hasn't happened. 🥳 🥴

You did a really nice job on that chamber. Clean, functional. What more do you need.....
