^^its all good bro, post away.

I have gotta say I wont ever fuck around with DWC again. simply not worth the risk in any way shape or form. from now on I will veg in 5gal grow bags, then transplant into 10 rubbermaid brutes, with a mini res in the bottom. mix of perlite:coco is amazing, lots of air and doesnt dry out quickly like %100 perlite

this run appears to have more huge buds than any MPB run I have done, I think its because the plants are smaller so they arent working so hard to maintain so much plant matter.

thanks also to GTD for his MOAB/hammer head combo, the buds are soo chunky

I will post some pics tonight

@ dizzle,

amen to that brother! I'm done with 'em too. My hempy rooms are rockin', and easy to run. Soooooooo much less stress, I think I'll sample some medicine now.

If you wanna get even simpler have your plants sit in a makeshift pond or some mini pools and just flood the pool/pond a bit and let them wick it all up, gives alot bigger res than a hempy.

^^ I cant get on board with a pure wick system, I find that you get extreme salt build up on the crown if you never have any topfeeding. But I would get on board with the idea of top feeding, and then wicking up the overflow out of the kiddie pools so that you can make sure and flush the crown.
I actaully havent been going crazy with the run off, I pretty much water 20gals at a time, ususally get 1.5gal of run off per bucket, then I run the pump for a 2mins, twice a day until I need to refill the res again, that way everything stays moist

good to hear brother, losing a harvest cost more than any extra you'll get from a killer MPB harvest. if you can work out a 8wks veg then your yeilds are going to be pretty much the same

You top feed like normal with drippers etc. but if you have to go away for a couple days or can't water for a couple days for whatever reason you just flood the pond a couple inches. Pure wick systems are voodoo lol.

Sup mrdizzle, I've been running coco and chunky perlite #4 in a 1:1 ratio DTW for 3 rounds now... Doing a modified gtd recipe as I'm not in RW or running CO2. Just wondering what your nute regiment has been... :wondering

Funny seeing all the old mpb'rs departing lol. Good to see ya, Coxie. Looks like everyone is converting for peace of mind.

It's so true, way more risk than it's worth unless you can afford the loss...but who wants that? I'll mess with rdwc on a small scale...scared to put all my eggs in one basket...that's just asking for trouble. I bailed on my planned mpb run and just gonna wait the veg time and get my chow mix girls going. Had my best run to date with it and see no reason to change. I'll be able to leave during the holidays and not stress too much.

Let's see those pics, Dizzle!

hey easy,

It's not just the financial bummer that comes from a lost crop, it's the mental aspect that really has an effect on me. I was talking with dizzle about it, and he stated that after losing a crop, he was afraid to walk into the flower room everyday, never knowing what new disaster you may find. I felt the same way. BUT NO MORE! Thanks to you and dizzle for leading the way. One of these days I'll have to send you guys your commission.....LOL. You really help a lot of us, thanks my brother. Maybe because of the failures, is why dds has vanished?

Guys, UC's have just as much chance at failure.. Its just the name of the game. MPB's are TERRIBLE if not entirely cleaned and for a big op thats impossible.. Just a thought..

I think your right lost, and you know where I believe a lot of drama hides out, in that 4in pvc, I honestly havent really cleaned mine is 1yr, , im thinking the UC is easier to clean because 100% of it is in contact with water at all times so when you clean it everything gets touched by teh sterilizer

also the drain tubes, if your water level leaving the tubes doesnt completely fill the entire drain line, mold grows on the top inside portion of the drain lines

my next run my vegging girls are much bigger and closer to my MPB girls were when I transplant them so I will be able to see how much faster the MPB are than the hempys

Im also going to switch to 14gal totes so each plant has its own tub

Wow, can't believe (on this site, especially) that someone else said it.

If you're growing this for your livelihood, I can't understand the incremental gain from aero, RDWC, etc. is anywhere near worth the peace of mind that comes with a simple drain to waste system.

Glad you came to that conclusion as well Dizzle, and the plants look great.

EDIT: I must spread rep around before giving you some more.
