Longevity of seeds depends on how the seeds are stored. I'm successfully germing seeds that are about 18 years old with this method, and they were not properly stored for the first couple of years.

The Master Gardener program, at least here, covers vegetables, flowers, trees, etc. I don't live in a legal state, so it definitely doesn't cover weed. However, weed is a plant like any other, and learning to grow other plants will help you to understand what works, what doesn't, and why it does...

Another awesome source of education on growing/gardening in general is the Master Gardener program. Many states have them and they are usually run at a county level (at least in the state I live in). The Master Gardener program locally is a series of classes held once a week over a 3-4 month period.

If your intakes are not powered, you need at least twice the intake as you do exhaust. For a 6" exhaust, you need 2 6" intakes if they are passive.

It's possible that the plants were not old enough to flower. Sativas can be very slow to mature.

Spread them out on a screen or something to let them dry. Make sure to remove all husks from the seeds. Store them in an air-tight container with dessicant (dry rice works, regular rice not instant) in the fridge.

The original post I got from CW specified 10 drops of Superthrive, so that's what I used. Comparing different strengths of Superthrive is one of the experiments I have not done yet. I do not know what the pressure in the jar is or what the originators had. I suspect that will change depending...

I sure hope you have that collection stored in a freezer or fridge with dessicant so they stay viable for a long time! I have a good collection myself, though I haven't purchased seeds in several years.

You might check with your water company to see what they use in the water. Most areas are using chloramine now instead of chlorine; chloramine does not evaporate like chlorine does. If they use the chloramine, your best bet would be a RO filter.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on those Afghani and Hawaiian seeds! Make seeds from them if you can - it would be a shame to lose the genetics.
