My goal, as I've mentioned before was to get a system down that is as "set it and forget it" as possible.
I hang my lights high so my plants can grow into them and I'm not measuring and adjusting height and intensity, blah, blah, blah....
I don't use domes, I start at .7kpa and work up through the life of the plant. I use the VPD setting on my controller (not because I'm a science nerd), but because I found that it maintained humidity better during lights on/off. Have I seen anecdotally how it has affected my plants.... yes, but like life this journey in individual.
I do use a little honey in my water, not to "sweeten" the flowering plant like nute companies try to market, but for 2 reasons: to feed the microbes and raise the brix level of the pants. Higher brix leads to healthier plants that are naturally more pest and disease resistant.
Speaking of pests..... I use
Trifecta pest control for my IPM. Think of it more like taking immune boosters for plants
When I chop a plant I hold the used soil to use as starter soil for seedlings and cuts, then once i have sprouted what i want to run, reamend what's left. Then i mix it into the rest of the amended soil.
I do this all out of a 2 bedroom apartment. I use and RV filter to dechlorinate my water and a patio mister filter to take out the calcium in my humidifiers.
My main point of emphasis, learn to listen to your plants. Focus on keeping them healthy first over yield. Study, study, study, and when you think you know it all.... study and research some more.
Don't be afraid to walk your own path, but never be too proud to ask for help or admit when you don't know. There's a great community here on THCFARMER with people with tons of experience in every facet of growing. If someone offers advice that you feel isn't relevant, be courteous and respectful, but do you.
That's my unwarranted two cents, I'm not the best or most experienced grower, but I do alright in the style that I use. If I can be of any help, ask away.
