I will never argue against hid lighting, mh and hps have been what I’ve seen producing well, I am trying to think of alternative power sources though, and if led tech can work, I want to build a solar micro grow for myself. And maybe promote it as a “package” I’m always looking for a new invention, or a hole in the market that needs filled, I’ve got a couple inventions I have prototypes for, and I want to sell bonsai trees as a hobby/business as well. That’s sort of where I wanted to take it. It’s just really frustrating trying to get to the real data through all the egos and misdirected hostile product loyalty.

The forums are mostly noobs and hobbyists. Not the best source of info for a serious business. I did not use them until i knew a lot.

And skip product selling tests too. Those are harder to weed out. Like the california light works led video. Very well disguised propoganda to sell lights.

All these guys are perking up nicely, even the little wedding cake cutting are lifting their leaves to the light, they were all droopy before I cut them back and changed the water.

Some of these have 3” branches lol, obviously not from now, but they should be bushy as hell.

The Small stuff up front, once the wedding cakes cut I’ll put a couple more in, hoping the clones don’t stretch as much as the herer did from seed. We will see here, have a bunch of different stuff. The big jack herer will be next to cut, it’s got a while though.

The herer is starting to frost up a little, not as good contrast like the WC so they are harder to see

The smaller herer are all doing better, I was a little worried. they grew incredibly for such a small pot. If they bulk up like their big sister I’d say it’s a successful experiment. This one has more bottom branchgrowth than the othersz

Candy apple kush turned out ok, a little harsh from nutes, but it got better with time.

This romie is turning in to quite a shrubbery, and it’s already frosting up, more than the herer for sure. Curious how it will all turn out. The wedding cake is by far the most potent. Smells like candy, skittles or something intensely fruity and sweet. And hits my face hard, I smoked a bit of it when I cut the 3 clones, and broke a small branch. WC is the only plant I’ve had snap on me. 3 times!

It seems like a much faster flower, so does the herer, I’m curious about the WC it’s the slowest of everything I’ve tried so far, I’m going to try to find out more about it.

Venom OG aka Asphalt plant
Last genetic to the party. I officially have growing every type of plant I have seed or ability to clone. Tiny little sprout, some of the seeds are larger than others, these were really small. I am wondering if there is more vitality in the larger seeds.

Will come up with a test at some point :)

I don’t have a set way of labeling the plants, the clones I’m not even going to bother, other than strain.

The seeds I date, this one I dated when I put it in the dirt, some I dated when the seed popped up out of the dirt, it doesn’t matter really till the 5-6th node on unsexed plants, seems that’s where the organs start popping out for me. when I was transplanting I dated it, but now I just use one size pot. When roots show on the bottom, and there’s a touch of fresh green it’s fair game to flower in my world lol.

side note, the dosiwhat runt finally showed sex, it’s a female, % female, I’m going to cut clones off of them next run, they are outside cold, flowering and growing extremely slow.

I’ve told a few people here I’m trying some led lighting, no one is willing to replace a 200$ 1000watt light with an 800$ led with out proof they work, much less replace a whole grow, also it creates new environment requirements, more heat to replace the radiant heat of the hid, or so I’ve read, even a small grow would cost a few grand for lighting. I wonder how the energy savings and bulb savings would add up over a 5 year period.

Everyone I’ve talked to is really interested in my testing!!! Have a good investor friend who’s interested, and a few grow friends already. Except the 1 grow store I talked to lol. 2 other ones were on board waiting for results. Wish I had more options to test.
Been looking at cmh, going to get one 315 for paring with the hps, then run 3-4 led boards in the 32x32.

your going to find MOST people arn't going to try it...unless they have to... if what is working work's why strate over......

alot of people also got screwed by mar's and don't even want to deal with led.....

the big plus for out there since there pushing solor is you can run a grow easy off it with led....

Locals are just set in their ways. When de ballast were new one guy has 12 1000 watt magnetic ballast, read 600 de were more efficient, bought them and after one run took them all back, now DE are better and most people use them.

Got the first board today!!!!! They didn’t have the one I paid for in stock so they sent the step up!!! I’m wasn’t sure what to expect but they did EXACTLY what they told me. These guys are awesome, took a little over a week to get it, next one should be here in a day or so. This will be fun!!! Haven’t had a reason to change everything for a couple days lol

Put it in the veg tent, planing on taking one of the 4000k boards off and putting a 3000k on it, adding one more additional board next to it and using veg tent to flower. Read as long as they are in series not parallel it should be fine using different batch boards.
I turned it up half way and it’s already brighter than 8t5 bulbs leaving it there, will up it slowly, although I don’t when they go into flower, BAM hid lol
