You boys are getting me sidetracked ..trying to concentrate here;) I am easily distracted:)

Just answering the questions you asked.

G Mornin Super M.

I am curious about veg time and the just letting them grow attitude on 1/2 my loompas.
I only have the 3 T5 lights for my cutts starts and mommies but.....
do you use a MH in a separate veg room yourself
or stay under the T5.
I have the room whats your take on that.

BTW
Thank You M
FlyJ

I know I am not Medusa but if you all don't mind I will add my two cents.

To start, my first question is what T-5 units do have running right now? My second questions is how big do you want your plants to get n veg?

I have used T-5 Units very successfully in the past to veg plants. I have set up a series of racks with 4 foot 4 bulb T-5 units attached over each shelf. I only needed my plants to reach 12-18 inches in height so they would often hit the max height rather quickly. But that was also for a sea of green grow. If you are running larger plants the T-5's may not offer enough light to get the most out of your plants. The drawback of T-5's, in my opinion, is that they tend not to penetrate more than 18 inches into the canopy. T-5's do have several advantages though, such as low heat output, plants can stay very close to the lights for extended periods of time, and there are lots of options to create coverage (varying unit sizes, can be hung vertically or horizontally). In my opinion to veg plants to a size over 2 feet you may want to consider an MH unit. It will offer good penetration through the canopy allowing lower branches to grow strong. It may also offer a slightly faster growth rate for your plants too.

Regardless of which lights you are using, clones, vegging plants and mom's can all be kept in the same space. In fact if you use an MH light to light the room, your clones may not need their own designated light; they could use the ambient light from the MH unit.

Again these are just my opinions, I am sure just about everyone else around here would have their own opinion. The only truly correct answer to your questions lies in what works best for you; whether that be due to budget or space constraints.

@FlyinJStable under T5 there probably 15-18 in then moved over under MH 1000 watt and transplanted into 3-5 gal pots depends if I know plant she usually get a 5 ... 3 for just testing her...

Run to the hills for some much needed outdoor time
still a little backwards on the timing of the outdoor thing but been reading everything I can about it.
and going through Caregiver Kens has helped.
I want to see Poison Ivy in the real sun right next to her Black cherry Jaws and Yeti girlfriends, see how big I can get some of the girls before it gets to cold. Keep ya posted on your tree.

You are correct, I do not stop in often enough. Unfortunately my schedule doesn't allow for much time on The Farm, but this is always my first stop when I am on.

What's happening Medusa? How these doing now? I like what @Smoking Gun had to say about the side light from a MH for your clones I do this too. Just set them off to the side 5-6 ft away works great for me. Ive had better results since doing it like this. :)
