How you get so lucky to get brb beans?

Hey guys, just letting you know I'm still here. Little update: still waiting to finish up this OG grow so I can join the rest of you guys. Unfortunately my big light, a 250 watt CFL, apparently shorted out or something. Out of the 8 tubes on it only four are working which is compromising my plants finishing the way I'd like them to. Contacted the seller cuz I've only had it for just over a month. Had to take some pics of it and email them to even begin the return/replacement process. Couldn't be worse timing as my big one is in week 4 of flowering and now only is getting about 60% of the light she needs. Just my luck but hopefully I'll get a new one in a couple days....

Meeting the right people on this site lol..gotta live this place for that..well folks I soaked my last BRB yesterday and one has cracked so far..I planted the last ones with a 1/4" tail so I think I'm going to woth half inch tail this time..man I wish super thrive was still legal here in canada

Well, Seraphim started a thread a while back about Auto Flowering strains and I think the ones who at the time showed the most interest were the people asked to be involved with a test grow..

ok, quick update. My 2 are doing fine at day #5. A bit slow to start but man I've had auto's start slowly and all of a sudden WHAM.. off and running. so being patient here is a key for sure..

Next watering they get their 1st feeding.. looks like since reusing this soil for the 3rd time, it's a bit low in Nitrogen and other goodies.. so I'll be starting the feeding a bit early then usual this run instead of waiting for 2wks or longer..

Superthrive?? You mean the little brown bottle with the green label and the old man on it? Why would that be illegal? It's just nitrogen, right?

Tip #1: Scuffing the seeds. I used to use the matchbox method and after losing many seeds I just felt there had to be a better way.. Lining a matchbox will work the entire outside shell, however the seam is where the problem lies IMHO. So, try this on seeds you have left.. Using a wet stone for sharpening knives, holding the seed in your fingers , slide the seed back & forth on the stone (do not wet the stone) on both sides hitting both seams.. This will severely weaken the seam allowing it to open much easier.
Tip #2: For very hard seeds or very old, simply place the seed in your fingers with seams on top and bottom.. fit the seed in your front teeth and bite down on the seed. You'll hear an audible cracking noise meaning the seed has actually split at the seam part way open.. then place in damp paper towel/baggie and I wrap mine up in a towel, then into a dark warm place...

Hard shelled seeds do not have to be old seeds necessarily. I just made just over 80 seeds harvested from 4 different plants.. some germinated with nothing more then placing in the dirt and watering while some very large black seeds needed Tip #1 above done to get them going..

Canada has many laws we do not have regarding things from pesticides and items such as Superthrive that may have one ingredient they find harmful to the environment and thus it's no longer allowed in the country.. I have a friend up there who can no longer get Neem Oil for the same reason..

You imagine with all their rules your only combatant against cockroaches is a hammer... lol

After a 24 hour soak,, this is how I crack seeds that don't want to crack.. But I use a 6" forceps and hand pressure it works great..
The hardest thing for the seed to do is crack.. This may take some practice to learn it..
Use bag seed to practice..

What if a private citizen copied the ingredients in french and taped it to the bottle next to the english version. Would they then let it through?

Hmm, strange. I guess that's sorta understandable in Quebec but what about the other provinces? I've been to Montreal quite a few times, back in the mid to late nineties and spent New Years on the millennium there as well as quite a few Jazzfests(all before u needed a passport to cross), ANYWAY, got sidetracked there....my point was that I know that everyone parlez vous francais THERE and a LOT of the signs and products have both languages on them but, again, it's not like EVERYONE in Canada speaks French....is it?

I believe Superthrive is more like a rooting Hormone and some swear by it.. I used to use it and Thrive Alive B-1 together. But superthrive is supposed to help promote the growth of the fine hair roots that split off the main tap root.. which is a good thing.. lol. Right now I simply use Root66 and OregonismXL powder right into the seedlings hole.. seems to work awesome.

For cracking seeds though that just do not want to open up I love the method of biting it with your front teeth until you hear the crack because now you KNOW it's opened up.. lol.

Yeah, an emery board would work just fine or even a fine grade sandpaper like 400..

I wonder if that's why Neem Oil is illegal to.. good info thanks.. I spoke with a guy on another site who gets his from someone in the states who puts it in shampoo bottles with other items to make it appear like a care package to a college kid or family member.. if there's a will there's a way huh? haha.

Hope you have great luck with your babies.. don't plant them if the tails have barely cracked open.. the 2 I was successful with had 2" tails or +.. And try to keep them slightly warm between 72-80 like you would a clone rooting..

Do you intend to make seeds if you get one of each.. I am hopefully.. good luck bro

These babies are potted up in 6l airpots and are sitting under the 135w led veg light.
They are around a week old and were given a mix of bubbled water and 2ml root juice per litre, I will probably introduce some grow on the next feed.

Right now I have put up my bit let me go back and read what I missed!

No not everybody speaks it but it's taught in our schools in every province so the majority of people can somewhat understand it lol..I don't kno the specifics on the law of having bilingual labels but I'm Goin by what I was told from the numerous shops I've called in Ontario. .it's just lame lol..it's don't understand because we have products all over woth just Chinese and Arabic writing so how did these get in? Any my last two BRB beans still only have a tiny tail just poking through..and the big daddy I popped hasn't even cracked..they are the biggest beans I've seen in my life lol..I'm wondering if there was maybe a bit of moisture in the packs when j put then in the fridge maybe turned them bad? Idk having hard times over here folks lol..happy farming

All I have is one BRB that has made it, and one Scouser is above ground. I have soaked all big daddy's and only one cracked and stopped there. About to soak 3 treacle I think.
