whats up KMK?sorry to hear of your loss. on the other hand my friend! you got skillz..loldont know how i missed this thread? on here everyday like clockwork. anyways,carbon filter is cheap to make and reusable? awesome,and i like that you didnt use screws..quality and it shows....sub'd for sure. +1 to you my friend. peacentreez

So tonight after work i was able to get the sides cut and sanded smooth.then it started to rain. not that im complaining lol the outdoor girls need it.

I will post more pics tomorrow,and hopefully by thur we can start putting this baby together.

So normally after working a 12 hr day of phyiscial labor im really pooped,but i saved some of that energy for after work tonight lol.

I got the bottom sub floor built and the sides attached.pinned and glued in place.have to wait for things to dry and set up a bit.

I took some pics and got mesurements of wood used so far.

Im letting my camera charge and will be back in half hour to post new photos.

ok heres what i got together so far.all the panels were put together by me the last couple days and today i started putting things together.

Everything was put together with dowels and glue the way i showed the other nite.you can change the mesurements to suit your needs but heres what mine were for reference.

The bottom wich was put together with 1" by 4" by 6' boards and then cut down to 20 3/4" by 34"

Sides: 20" by 36"

Sub floor: 2 pieces 1" by 6" by 20 5/8"
1 piece 1" by 6 " by 35 1/2 "

What i did was attach the sides to the bottom keeping the bottom outside edge flush,and in line with the outside edge of the sides!
I used 3 dowels on each side to attach the sides to the bottom.

Then to make your sub floor to lift the bottom of the cab up and give you an air space under the floor (in this case 5 inchs) i took the two shorter pieces of the sub floor,and attached them where the bottom ,and side come together. when you put your dowels in to make sub floor you will be going into the floor itself not the sides.
After the side two are on do the same to the front of the cab with the remaining piece.

You can see some of the dowels still sticking out.i cut them flush and sand them smooth when there dry.

The last one shows a better view of the way the sub floor gets the main floor up off the ground.dont short yourself on height here this is where fresh air will be coming from.

The other thing i wanted to touch on is the back is finished and ready to be put on however in this case the back will be the last thing that goes on.

You will understand more as to why tomorrow.i have a way of locking the cab that needs me to get into the back untill its working proper.

Its really so simple its dumb,but ill tell ya.everytime i watch someone try and figure out how to do it it just amazes me that folks forget to look at the obvious.that,and if your buddies are over its comicial as hell lmao

Oh yeah almost forgot.i left enuff room in height that if i want to add a shelf for my clone house i can with ease.

Things are always changing around.so i left myself plenty of room.

Good evening everyone.

This meeting will come to order.my names KOTTEN and im a smoke-a-holic lol

OK enuff playing lol i got a couple updates for you all.again if anyone has any questions ill answer the best i can.

i cut down 4 pieces of 1" by 4" down to size.2 of them are cut to32 3/8 " And 2 more down to 29".i put one of the 32 3/8 on the bottom between the sides

And also one on the top.i used a clamp to hold the sides tight to the new boards put inside.

Then take your shorter pieces and place them one on each side to form a kind of picture frame.

Now once its inside lined up and tight this helps to keep things square...i draw two lines on each side top and bottom.this is your jig guide to drill your holes for your dowels.

This is a pic of what it looks like out of the box for reference,and was rt before i drilled,and doweled it

And here it is back in the box lined up flush with the outside edge,and clamped.i always wait and clamp the whole thing in.what that allows it to do is dry square.

Ok now on the the roof of the cab

In the first two the roof is just sitting on top for reference.its the same piece that was use for the bottom.now its flush all the way around.so in order to make it not look just like a square box we need to create lip to hang out over the outside. this is pretty easy heres how.

Heres the roof all by itself.now what we are going to do is put a 2" boarder all the ay around this.it will make the lip to hang over the sides,and font of the cab.i used 1" by 2" strips of wood.

I simply just measured the outside edges of the original top and then cut them on a 45 degree angle to make the square.
Then again line up the 2" molding clamp and draw your jig lines again.

And this i what i used to make the cuts.its a cheap miter box i got at the depot

These two show what the 2" border looks like after its been attached to the roof.

And the last two show how it creates the ledge around the top.

hope everyone is enjoying my lil build,and its helping a couple people out.im hoping to get the front done tomorrow night and the locks on.
