I just did the best defensive driving of my life the other day... I wasn't speeding, but I was stoned and eating a taco... also had been neglecting putting air in my tires even though my car has been telling me to for a week
caught a patch of ice going around a 90 degree downhill turn and got launched almost sideways towards the guardrail where I would have smashed my whole front end... dropped the taco, my little stoner brain was screaming "TURN INTO THE SLIDE" so I did, of course then I'm sideways in the other direction heading towards the other guardrail... "TURN INTO THE SLIDE, BUT LESS!" Finally got down the hill, off the ice patch and heading in the right direction. It must have been a ridiculous sight. Then the guy behind me is careening towards me so I run a stop sign to not get rear ended. Luckily no coppers on the back roads lol... so moral of the story, don't get stoned and eat tacos while driving in the snow on slightly deflated tires. Just glad my traction control was off because that shit probably wouldn't have allowed that ridiculous maneuver and my car would be smashed.
