Sup! What nutrient's are you using? Is that just coco and chunky perlite? So I use a 30 gallon res with a dab dtron 3 submersible pump 3/4 pvc pipe to a flora flex manifold the 1/4 inch lines to drip emitters. Then I use drainaway drain trays for runoff. The system isn’t perfect and I do plan to add a solenoid since my pump has a pressure sensor. Everything is ran off Wi_Fi smart plugs. Also I’m in coco and perlite.View attachment 1326304View attachment 1326302View attachment 1326303
I’m using greenleaf nutrients Mega Crop 1 part with added Bud Explosion in flower. Yes that’s coco with 30% perlite. I have been experimenting with different size perlite.Sup! What nutrient's are you using? Is that just coco and chunky perlite?
Interesting setup, i have been running straight coco but im thinking chunky perlite or rice hulls would help the roots drain better.I’m using greenleaf nutrients Mega Crop 1 part with added Bud Explosion in flower. Especially if you have an automatic setup, I bet you will like it. The Mega Crop only costs me like .3 cents a gallon. During flower I’m fertigating at least 6-7 times a dayInteresting setup, i have been running straight coco but im thinking chunky perlite or rice hulls would help the roots drain better.
Yeah dude i run high frequency fertigation and love it. Im liking the amino acids and no edta of greenleaf and the simplicity. Any particular reason you went with the 1 part + boost vs their 2 part?Especially if you have an automatic setup, I bet you will like it. The Mega Crop only costs me like .3 cents a gallon. No reason to switch when I get good results is the main reason. I have had such good luck with the Mega Crop 1 part and it’s so cheap I don’t want to change. I will eventually try all the greenleaf products as I get a discount on there products.Yeah dude i run high frequency fertigation and love it. Hell yeah thats a good enough reason to stick with it if its workin for you. Def might give the 1 part + boost a try, im learning the hard way that simpler is better when it comes to these plants. No reason to switch when I get good results is the main reason. Looking strong in there! Good work as always, gonna be a seriously nice canopy of buds!!A little less than a week left before Fimming, lollypopping and flipping to flower. Getting my scrog table ready!

Can't wait to watch this thread, I got my screen and tent and 20 grand in very high yeilding and super stoney genetics that can produce up to 3lbs a light. I've just never learned this method of growing but I want to try it at least 1 time and done right so I can get judge with good info on both sides which form of growing is best suited for my style and continues growth, my commercial flower light is a 1,125 watt DE HPS with digital ballast that I run at 825 watts currently with great results and high yeilds!. But I'm very interested in my biggest yielding strain that puts put 3lbs a light without Scrogging, I wonder if I scrogged it how much more it could possibly give me. This is my Chimera # 2 breeders clone from Beleafworldwide, it's a $2,000 dollar clone if purchased thru Beleafs online store but on my website I do them way way cheaper so the average man can afford it. Here's a few pics of it in flower. Many of us home/indoor growers have somehow stumbled upon a method known as scrogging. One of the most effective ways to triple your harvest! A successful scrog grower will never revert to free budding. Why would you willingly give up that triple take?
I am in year twelve of this process and still have never considered doing it any other way.
With this said, I have also developed my own technique of properly preparing my plants to give me a max output.
Prepping the plants properly prior to scrogging is important. It sets the basis for every aspect of the process. We are actually building the plants to get maximum return. If it were a painting we would be at this point prepping the canvas.
This is my attempt at a diary of just that. I will start at the seed popping and show you step by step what I do.
With that said, I must tell you I have done the first topping and failed to show you how I did it, but pretty simple I just top the first time at node 4.
First pic: January 17th, plants are ten days old. Much to be said about genetics and breeders in this pic. The good and bad! I’m sure you know which two were trashed! These ladies are off to seven gallon bags!
Pretty LadiesHi CannaG,
great thread!
I consider myself to be a scrog'er, even light distribution, great air flow, bigger buds & height managed. I love it!
I am no expert, still learning. I gave my first try at fimming this grow. Not sure how it went, can't remember which plant it was now
I thought id share a couple of photos, not bragging as there is nothing to brag about, just would like your thoughts on how I'm doing.
The screen went in 3 days ago and I have been moving bud sites to different squares daily to try and keep everything at an even height. I also have been removing what I consider to be the unproductive bud sites so I guess kind of lollipopping? I don't want to go full lollipop as I want to try and maximise my yield so I keep the branches that are looking like they'd hold decent bud, small flimsy branches are removed.
I'll continue moving bud sites to different squares until they've finished stretching then just let them do their thing, and if im lucky enough to have top heavy buds I'll add a trellis net to keep them supported.
Following along, will you be covering your defoliation techniques that you use along the way?
taken just now after an adjustment

I still want to defoliate more below the netting, I just do it bit by bit day by day, I like to use fresh eyes doing this, I find this task can take a turn for the worst if you rush it. I also have 3 plants in here that are younger than the rest, Has been difficult nutrient wise. I also gave a go at bending them 90 degrees. Probably wasn't a great idea in this grow but definitely something I'll try again.

You don’t get much easier than feeding the same thing from seed to harvest. The boost and other products help terps and such in my opinion but are not even needed. Plus I use mega crop in my garden and outdoor grows.Hell yeah thats a good enough reason to stick with it if its workin for you. I would probably wanna run a microbe like recharge or great white with it cuz i dont think it has microbes? Hell yeah man, ima order a bag and try it out. Im about done mixing 5 different nutrients (calimagic, micro, gro, bloom, diamond nectar) one would be sick. Care to show some nug porn from a greenleaf nute grow? You don’t get much easier than feeding the same thing from seed to harvest. Thank you Canna G!!Pretty Ladies
So if I understand you have flipped to flower? Interesting set up you have going there.
When I start a scrog, the first thing I do is eliminate anything that does not reach the top of the table at the time of placing the top. I will be doing this within a week or so and will show you how to properly lollypop your grow going into scrog. Anything that does not reach the top will become larf. Some ppl are okay with that, I’m not. I want those big fat solid buds.
Traditionally when you go on scrog your plants are at least six inches taller than the height of your table and your limbs will be pushed under it, elongated. Please refer to ugly plant pic at time of tabling in this diary.
As for defoliation for the first three weeks that they are on scrog, I defoil how ever much I need to have open spaces between my flowers for light and air movements. After week three it’s pretty much a no go, and I tuck down leaves that get in the way.
I continue to stretch out my limbs for the first week and a half, and then it’s time to stop. Why? This keeps my Bud uniform sizes and generally my table is full at that point as well. Always push the plant under and don’t weave them through your top.
Looking forward to watching your grow!
Morning Frostie!Thank you Canna G!!
Yes I flipped a week ago now. exciting times going into flower!! Do you still get super excited going to flower after your years of growing?
ok I'll get chopping and get rid of the rest below the line
Im not sure what LARF is, assuming it's like pop corn shit bud. Loose fluffy rubbish. Yes 100% agree get rid of it, I believe the plant uses that energy into the better bud sites when you remove these energy wasting branches.
hahahaha yes love the ugly pic!!
yes am under didn't weave, phew....
so ive got half a week left to adjust the limbs. perfect!
Thanks so much Canna G. Ive done all the reading, even have a few grows under my belt doing this, but to have someone give you years of experience and advice in real time while growing is pretty special and a big help fix things im doing wrong or reaffirm that im doing the right thing. or answer questions ive had for quite some time such as:
In your previous comment you mentioned about topping and filming. I have wondered about combining the two. Am I correct that you top. Once you've topped then you fim. then flower not long after that?
Happy growing!!
Top, top, fim.. my motto lolLooking forward to your demonstration/description of fimming @CannaGranny ...I've never done it. I didn't even top last year, but I think I should this year... what would you say would be the best course of action for my outdoor scrog, just top a couple times, or add fimming too? I want to drop the scrog a bit to keep it more incognito, so topping of some kind is probably in order.
