Probably a good call. Sky High already told me he's bringing a bag of Sharpies; whoever passes out first gets to advertise their love for cannabis with ink on the forehead... lmao.
I'm personally on a 30 day fast from all things alcohol; though I usually don't drink much. (the hiatus has a story; TyKaycha might fill you in on the details...) :)

Naww, mum's the word. Wouldn't ever think to talk about it here. Maybe at the gathering but only in jest. Everyone deserves to cut loose once in a while. Helps keep our insanity in check! ;)

Damn leroy. That sucks. I know where you are comin' from.

the only "dentist" I know down there is a periodontist/implant specialist....... gulp. OUCH. (sky reaches for his mouth and wallet at the same time)

FWIW...I quit drinking altogether in about '96. I rarely drank 'til i moved to "Ski town" in '84....and then I kinda went nutz and let things get out of hand for quite awhile there...

I've saved enough $$$ since then I may be able to retire soon! LOL.

I have nada against anyone else imbibing....unless that is...they are a stumbling/bumbling fool....then we just push em off the side of the mountain.

Ooops..did i say that/ I mean..we Sharpie funny shit on their forehead.... Harrrummmp.... ;-)

stumbling, bumbling fools are ok with me, as long as they're QUIET and respect my personal space (100 yards). :) I've been accused of some stumbling and bumbling a time or two in the past, and I'd like to think I respect myself and others more than that now... But I did get sideways during my pool league the other day- not alot to drink, just an empty stomach. By the time I realized it, it was too late... 30 days ain't nothin; just giving myself a timeout for bad behavior... lol

I sure hope this chilly weather blows outta here before we head up to the mountain. I'm ready for some sunshine and serious toking. Looking forward to meeting a lot of new folks at the gathering. I just finally got the ok at work to take off that Friday so bigsur and I should roll in by lunch time.

yo folks!

the wife and I headed out yesterday......did a bit of gahhhhhhhhdening.... and then cruised over by "camp" to check things out a bit.

Of course, like a fuckstick, I walked off and forgot the camera on da table....

Cool and dry up there. Snow is all but gone. "Spring" is springing....

We camped in a really cool spot just above where I think we will amass for the gathering.
The spot I m targeting is more open that the heavily treed spot we stayed at last time, but the view is outstanding.... south to the lakes...West to the Sawatch. One of those "kick back" spots. BIG Sun and BIG views.

The road was dry and should be passable for everyone.the sign says "4-wheel drive" but I think that designation kicks in WAYYYY above camp...which is probably 1/2 mile off the blacktop. To see what it was like farther up, we went a good mile or so farther up the road than the turnoff to camp to set up to sleep last night and met a Volvo wagon comin down from above (the trailhead to South Elbert trail is higher up)...so..um...."no worries".

Melizzard...neither the wife and I have driven a big trailer like yers...but from what I saw you should be able to get in there and get turned around. At the very worst one of the guys could try backing it up if you didn't make the circle...but if you get there before a buncha other folks arrive I think you should be able to do it without us having to move cars/etc. NONE of the campsites up there are super huge/wide open.....but this is definitely one of the biggest spots around. We checked 4-5 places I saw on Google and this one has the most rooom as well as the most privacy. My idea for you would be that we will come out to the pavement to get you...give you a dooobie-laced tour back up the road to camp...and then see what you think. you are ultimately the pilot... so all we can do is show ya the way and see what you think. I have no idea what you normally do in this rig...etc.... so we'll just play it by ear. OK?

FWIW, folks.....The only way I see we wouldn't camp at this particular spot is if there is a lot of rain the week prior to the event and the road gets dicey.....or if someone else snags the spot. Yesterday/today it was a ghost town. We didn't see but a few cars and those were guys fishing at the Forebay. being that this gathering is the weekend before Mem Day weekend...I don't think we're gonna see a lot of folks in the area.

LOL rocky. sounds like I'll have to get up there early to beat you crazy mo-fos.

Well, we won't be up there by lunchtime Friday, so no way I'll be the first one there. I I prolly won't be pulling in till mid-afternoon. And, SH, I just LOVE the 'doobiemobile' scouting trip to check out the spot! LOL But honestly, I don't want no doobie-nuthin' till after I get that thing in it's rightful place! THEN bust out me some 60-70% sativa and I'm freakin' ecstatic! Even got a brand new vape for the trip ... needed a camping model! :) Got a Magic Flight Launch Box and it ROX!
