I would just purchase 2 cheap hps 600'sThat's exactly what I was thinking. If it gets too hot I'll just grab a 600w hps and run 2 600w. I'm hoping the cold basement air will keep me good
You think 1600 will be too much? I was thinking I'd running 2 1000 in there this winterI would just purchase 2 cheap hps 600's

these are what I alway used
I have used Horti's
but never saw a difference
(when you pinch of the leaves of the tops it stops the tops from growing)when you pinch of the leaves of the tops it stops the tops from growing to allow the rest of the branches to catch up to create a complete canopy without dividing branches into 2
so he say that red pistil early is the case
I am not so sure
in my grow right now
I have 2 plants that are reddining right now
and 3 that are still all white
I think it has to do with how many weeks the plant finishes
1 of the 2 quin n tonics is already half red but still throwing whites
and my Jews Gold is reddening and she is a 50 day flower and started red about day 33 which seems right
the quin n tonic is supposed to be between 55-65 day flower so around 30 days or so in seems right.....that leaves 2 weeks of ripening which is about right
there is a lot to be learned about defol, and pruning, when and where....(when you pinch of the leaves of the tops it stops the tops from growing)
So it stops it all together from growing taller, or drastically slows it down so the others can catch up?
You would do this in veg right?
How about during stretch?
This seems to me to be very very importation for what im trying to accomplish..
Knowing when NOT to do this is prob important too,
As i prob wouldnt want to do that after stretch, as I think its not recommended to remove anything after 2nd week of flower eh?
well no but you never know with the heatYou think 1600 will be too much? I was thinking I'd running 2 1000 in there this winter
so you would do this in veg making sure that your canopy is even and all your branches have reached the top(when you pinch of the leaves of the tops it stops the tops from growing)

True, better to be safe, and I doubt light will be my limiting factor. I still need to dial my enviro in on this run. If I was going to top before flower to keep my height down when would the best time be?well no but you never know with the heat
and electric bills
also light isnt a limiting factor
if you dont have CO2
IMO a 600 will produce the same amount of buds as a 1k
because you are maxing your saturation point
but if you have CO2
then your metabolism is stepped up so that 1k can really push the flowers as they are now able to assimilate all that extra light
incorporating this into scrogging to even my canopy orso you would do this in veg making sure that your canopy is even and all your branches have reached the top
then wait about a week and flip to flower
on day 14 of flower
you strip every fan leaf off the plant and clean up the bottom for any scraggly crap
and then no more touching your plant until chop
At least a week befor flip, ive heard even 2 weeks.. I waited 10 days... imoTrue, better to be safe, and I doubt light will be my limiting factor. I still need to dial my enviro in on this run. If I was going to top before flower to keep my height down when would the best time be?
yeah I would stop topping 7-14 days before flipAt least a week befor flip, ive heard even 2 weeks.. I waited 10 days... imo
We see what Wisher says..
incorporating this into scrogging to even my canopy or
am i basically doing the same thing by tucking?
Ya I want to scrog....well see instead of scrogging which is forcing a main top into a whole bumch of little tops
what he and I and others do is top how ever many times when small then allow all those to grow up making sure that each one is equal to the other
then flip
so no tucking or lst or anything
you build the width of your canopy before flip and flip with the understanding of how tall you want your plants and how much they stretch to know how short to keep the canopy
You could almost buy all 3 for the price and spread it properWhen you look at this light, you can't help but be in awe.... But is it just a dream team on paper?
2 lec 315's and a de in the middle.....
I cant get past the part where they say it will illuminate a 4x8 and the reflector is only 40x25...
Im sure its got the watts, but can it throw them evenly across a 4x8?
And how high would you say they need to be? With c02?
https://hydrobuilder.com/sun-system...-de-combined-fixture.html?dzid=strands_906300
Nope the 315's with the phillips bulbs are $450 a pcs. Then a 600/750 de is another 400.. But how are they making a de spread 4x8.. they said a wide throw de reflector.. but does it really disperse the light that well? You could almost buy all 3 for the price and spread it proper
What I like the most about it, is the fact that you can run just the 315's thru veg, then turn on the de for flower, and the de is dimmable... The 315's might even be dimmable too...You could almost buy all 3 for the price and spread it proper
so in one of his videos he has his full canopy finishingYa I want to scrog....
Really what I want to do is let them grow 2 feet, supercrop everything down to 10", put the scrog on asap, dead on them at 10", veg and tuck till 85% of canopy is filled...
Here is my question. If at day 10 I have a couple renegade tops, do I then clip those top fans, to slow it down while the rest of them stretch and catch up? Am I on the right track?
Just growing a plant is one thing, but manipulating it do what you want,
I think is what you skilled growers understand from trial and error,
that maybe a person has to witness to completely understand...
That will be year 2 :)
that is whyso in one of his videos he has his full canopy finishing
no scrogging
3+# per light
the reason is
when you scrog
you are bending down a main and for ing all those nodes that would have packed on heavy production
you are forcing them to be mains
growing stems to hold themselves
the plant knows how much to regulate per growth node
minimizing your final weight
when you allow main branches to come all the way up to the apical/center branch
the plant has now shifted its hormones to distribute to all those mains
it also knows how strong those mains are and then pack on the weight
that is why
he and other industrial growers "Sea of Green"
which dosnt necessarily mean a shit tons of plants
you can run fewer plants as long as you run it high enough to get enough lower and then manipulate to get those lowers level with apical
then you have a true canopy
scrogging is redistributing all those hormones into a bunch of weak puny branches and telling them "grow big buds"
it just wont
that is my theory anyways
that is why to never see high production gardens running scrog
they do use nets
but never to lay down and tuck
just to support the weight they produce
you should be able to pull.....with CO2
2 1k's
8 buckets
4+#'s easy
but I say if you scrog
you will cut that down to about
1-1.5# per light
JMO
i know when you remove leafs from below the top say 12" colas it puts effort into growing buds down low. so them auxins are being distributed down low i guess.Ya I want to scrog....
