So true, the rolls of that wire are so tightly wound, you def don't want to have your fingers anywhere near the inside of the roll when your releasing the tension.

I found that out right away, with no injuries. The roll I have is rusty, I'm wondering if the rust/iron will have an effect on the trees? Any idea?

I've wondered about the rust myself, I don't think its an issue but you could consider soaking the wire in a solution like CLR or spray painting a protective enamel over the rust..

Didn't think I needed them, but it was raining just before my last harvest and got some bud rot. So its one more thing to buy. The water cooled fixtures really help with the heat but the girls put allot of water in the air.

Growing is a hobby for me, so I've been playing around with measuring lumen's at different angles, etc. Was told that I really needed to use RO water for the water cooled fixture to get as much light output as possible. So I measured the light with some old water in it and drained it out with the light on and the lumen's were almost unchanged. It appears the 2 glass tubes is the biggest factor in the attenuation of light in the these fixtures.

Temperature and water flow sensors on your light chiller system are a real good thing to have in case of pump/chiller failure or if a circuit breaker pops on your pump or pilot error. It doesn't take long for your lights to cook.

It seems to be way more efficient to keep the heat and infrared light out of the grow room by using the water cooled fixtures. But humidity may still be a problem to be dealt with.

Your grow is exactly what I wanted to do, so my eyes are glued to the tube, waiting for the next set of pictures.
Thanks my Brother!!

Hey bro,
I don't think that the humidity in the room is coming from the fixtures, cause the water is never exposed to air, also, there's no condensation coming off the fixtures or feed lines, so I don't think any add'l room humidity is coming from them. And, yes, I have the flow sensors & auto shut offs. (very astute observation). These fixtures, in some places are less than 6 inches from the plant, with NO negative effects. The fixtures are doing what I'd hoped, except for the fact that these trees are growing bigger than I expected. So, the increased growth, plus reduced room heat are 2 goals that I believe I've accomplished. According to dd, the battle with the excess room humidity comes from BIG girls, and believe me mine are friggin' big now. I'm just beginning week 3 of flower, and it's a jungle, (I'll be posting updated pic's Friday). Also, running a closed grow environment, and the battle with high humidity is normal. I have 2 commercial grade dehuey's now (I ditched the 2 Home Depot ones), and it's coming under control, but it's still a fight. I"ll keep you updated bro.
Coxie

Also, you'd mentioned RO water. You've got to have some type of chlorine additive in the water to keep the lenses from getting dirty.

Hey Socachi,
I'll be posting updated pic's Friday, just starting 3rd week of flower. These trees are huge, and I've never seen growth like the MPB's produce, un-friggin'-real.

Thanks for the props bro!

Dont do as I do...I ran this first round w/out the dehumidifier....The dehumidifier is in the realm of a santa fe type model..No idea how much water it takes out but it definitely a commercial one and works on temps as low as 50 degrees...

When I do buy a new one I think I will grab one of these...

Thanks mc,

DD and Dusty gave me info that totally solved it for me. Overnight room temp = 75, room humidity = 40.5% - perfect!!!!!!

Hey Lost, I added 2 monster dehuey's and they kick ass!

This problem requires throwing cash at it, but it's worth every penny.

Yo Coxie I've been keeping my room at 74 at night which causes my a/c to kick on which has been helping a lot with the humidity.

You must live in a warmer place than me. We don't have temps above 74 at night yet. The temp thing, along with humidity is a juggling act with a closed grow environment.
