Pulled them down to give more uniformity and spread of light. Fed 300 TDS water with Cal Mag and Kelp today. 5.5 ph to bring soil down some.

Started getting hot so I shimmied everything around a little and added a small little portable AC to keep it around 75, has 5 pound swing on hot and cold now so I never have to worry about temps ... only my electric bill. Lol. Have to love this Oregon Weather , going from high of 86 today to 60 in 2 days. All the stuff I have bought for this has almost all been secondhand. You can pull these together for pretty cost effective costs if you look around .

1000w light and Ballast w/ HPS Bulb and the grow tent and fan and carbon filter and 2 small can fans @ $200

Portable 8000BTU AC @ $150

Fan w/ Variable Controller @ $25

Fan from house @ $0
Cam @ $0
Humidifier @ $0

I actually spent quite a bit on the little pieces; compost, grow bag and stands, ducting, meters, and fertilizer and soil and 50$ for clones. But all in all if you have a little money you can go a long ways if your resourceful. Also if you go the Led route you can save money as well with less fans and more consistent temps, but buy a board new not secondhand as the lights dim over time.

Hey @RogueWiz !! Really enjoying your grow journal. I am a newbie myself and just started my first indoor 4x4 tent grow. Using 600w HID vs. Your 1000w but all else pretty close. A big thanks for posting your setup, the toys, etc. you are using with this.
Dezi.

Good stuff Rogue. I threw up a double trellis net last week my babies are almost through the second net. I think you’re in a good
Position to put some nets up. Happy grows.

Here’s my trellis nets in my 4x4 built with pvc.

exposing more bud sites using a net doesnt hurt anything, same as topping, same as staking it, I guess all I'm saying. At a certain point too much matter is a problem no matter the stage. But of course it's a depending on many variables. 😎

This is true... But I usually dont have too much matter until I'm in the stretch phase. If I have too much before that I've fucked up the timing of the flip.

Being resourceful makes life easier for sure. I never buy new sometimes I sit around for a long time waiting for the right deal. I picked up my 1000w switchable ballast with bat wing reflector 2 brand new 1000w bulbs a 400w bulb a 240v timer 2 tents 2 clones for around 200bucks. The most expensive thing I've bought are the genetics. Of which half of my beans have yet to arrive 3 weeks since I bought them and the shop is only an hour away

Ran into my first real issue! Was running Magnesium deficiency that I was thinking was actually nute burn , so it took me a little longer than I would've liked to correct but i have them coming back to they're springy selves. As soon as I feel the plants are 100% healthy I'm going to shoot it into flower .

You don’t want them to get a little taller and bushier before bloom, or are you adhering to the tight 8 week cycle?

I have a 9ft tall grow tent so I have room; I was just letting them fill it out while I manipulated the growth to fill the tent. I swapped to flower today and am swapping to my HPS bulb in a week to give them a little cushion over, advised by a grow op I help. HORTILUX 1000W SUPER HPS.

Growing out of PDX, OREGON!
1ft tall Clones Garanimals (2) Sundae Driver (1)
Transplant from cube from dealer to 5G grow bags. Plants appear healthy, exception to Sundae Driver has a light burnt tip look to it but I'll bring it back..maybe.. lol.

Soil Forest Farms OF mix w/ Perlite, a dash of compost, and Mycos in the soil and sprinkled on the cube and nest.
Heavy Watering w/ Fish & Seaweed, Kelp, Calmag lightly 300ppm. 6.2PH

Started light cycle 2-8PM being 6 HRS of Night to keep temps tolerable on hot day.

Added Dehumidifier after low 35% moved to 52%
Running Temps HI of 80° @2PM Low of 71° @8PM.

1000W Hortilux MH Bulb, Sun System Hood w/ adjustable ballast. 440cfm variable speed fan cooling just light from atmosphere. Both hooked to light timer. 440cfm Fan w/ Carbon filter outside of tent pulling air.
240cfm fan for intake. Humidifier next to intake. Fan in corner oscillating against tent causing light movement to plants. Temp/Humidity meter connected to WIFI that also graphs info in other corner with WIFI connected security camera (for checkups when I'm not home).

LMK what you think, things to change or add! I'll get some updated photos of everything soon!
Everything looks good. One question, you have the vent from your hood coming out of the tent. Totally understand that, but are you at all worried about light leaking back during lights off? I think I would add some additional ducting and have the exhaust go down closer to the ground so light does not come in with lights off. Maybe it is not a problem just hoping for the best for you !! Have a great grow!!!!

Hey Anthem! Yes I was worried about light leakage so I bought a double insulated ducting specifically so light cant get through and also so the air it pulls stays cool passing through to the light. On each side it comes down a little so light cant enter, I've been inside it and it was pitch black lol. Apollo Tent, I like it a lot so far. The garage I keep open like 3" so I get some air changing new oxygen and with a fan I have on the ballast it kind of circulates through the garage. Unless it gets super hot and then I keep my door open to the house and just cool the garage as it's well insulated.

We are flowering if you're still watching 😁😄 Swapped to HPS light after 2 weeks of flower with MH during stretch. So far plants are doing great! Spotted a little white mildew so I added another fan in the back corner and cleaned it well.

Lights giving it a gray color but here's an idea on where we are at! Nice citrus earthy aroma going on inside the tent.
