First Indoor 600w Led Experiment

the 150w ufo's draw about 45-50w at the wall

LED for the most part is a lie

what I mean by that is that they will claim
500w of power
what they are really saying is
the 150w led MAY be equivilant to 500w of incadescent

and all leds are not made the same as is the case with hps for the most part

with hps you can pretty much throw in any 600 and know what to expect

with LED it is a differ story

the LED's that I run are true 75w a piece actual 3500k spectrum
a total of 300w of actual draw = 150 par watts which is pretty equivalent to a 600w Gavita
I am outputting 48,000 lumens with 300w
it has been measured at 950ppfd in a 2x4 space @18" above canopy
I pulled of 300g off my last run with 300w of light
with those blurple type single diode leds you have to get like 4" to the plant because of the reverse square law principle

Lol I love it when you get to ramblin. I learn shit! Ya I was gonna say that i would just keep saving till i could afford the $600 for the 320w cobs diy build (Timber,com) ... I mean if your gonna go led, then imo that is the only way to go.
There is good weed, then there is super frosty weed. I didnt see super frosty weed until i used my hps super horti bulb and my dlux mh in last 4 weeks of flower.. Before that was just cheap bulbs and just hps in flower.
And the weed was good but it didnt have that bag appeal like super frosty weed does!
Im buying one when i replace out my 600.... Hands down decision made on which one!

I have Apollo smart v3 280w - drow 180w, Mars II 700w - draw 525w and Mars hydro reflector 480w -draw 300w, all three placed in square. Lights are 20cm above cannapy. Draw from wall 1005 w or 1kw in 4x4 about 1k euros worth of lights

looks good bro.. Not knocking your leds... Thats not my job lol... $200 more and you could of had 2x320w cobs...
640 grams for experienced grower.. lot better than i did last run!

Really man? Without hydro with just COB like cxb3590? I meant to do my next grow with 12 cxb3590 in 4x4 serial connected ,with active cooling, With two hlg 240 drivers.

that is 4 3590's ran @ 2.1a
340w from the wall which is the total with 2 fans and the drivers themselves

Really man? Without hydro with just COB like cxb3590? I meant to do my next grow with 12 cxb3590 in 4x4 serial connected ,with active cooling, With two hlg 240 drivers.

thanks...but that is actually not as good as I have seen

with some people and the right strains I have seen 2gpw
over on RIU there is a huge LED community with a lot of really awesome growers.....for LED and other things I like to cruise over there

I like helping people here...as well this site is much more laid back...not as hostile

I've been trying to learn more about them. They really seem to be doing well these days although I don't really have the knowledge for DIY cobs so If I end up trying them I'll have to buy a prefab unit. 2 GPW very cool. Makes me wonder how much longer I want to use HID lights.

Don't spend no more money till u learn that language! Lol! It's a little complicated but it gets easier as you continue to read about it... cxb 3590 cob. .. That's what you remember today.

Cobs are little pucks that consist of many single diodes that run together to create 1 light source or bulb

this is what an actual full spectrum LED light looks like

T-5's can generate a great harvest
they are great for scrogging where you can keep the lights 2-4" from canopy
scrog it out and lolipop everything under about 6" from the top of canopy
you can create awesome top nugs with them

I do like how well advanced those LEDs have gotten, but they are a wee bit more I can afford atm.
