I want to start mixing my own but dont have the space since i live in a apartment. Thanks for the thread reccomendation ill have to check it out.I purchased my 7 Gavitas 3 years ago and loving the DE's. Now I want to expand again and I am torn between buying more DE's from PL, or taking the CMH plunge in flower. It is a shame that Monsanto purchased Gavita mostly because now i have to go and buy all new controllers and who knows what else . I have been told the pl hoods are not as efficient as the Gavitas.
As far as the botanacare end goes you can always mix your own calmag for pennies. The fatman thread on raw salts may even have an recipie for it. Personally I gave up premixed bottled nute stock solutions about 5 or 6 years back, and I have never looked back :D

I don't follow the crowd when it comes to propaganda and mindless brainwashing... and drinking the Kool-Aid that certain environmentalists want to feed us.
I've provided links, and I've shown that Monsanto is a global player and necessary for civilization.
I love Monsanto.

The part that we should be most concerned about Monsanto and other chemical companies gmos isn't the fact that it's been genetically altered- although unnatural and likely harmful long term -its the reason these organisms/plants were modified in the first place . Take roundup ready corn for example it's been genetically modified to tolerate being sprayed w glyphosate -a herbicide that would normally kill corn plants. The vast majority of corn is sprayed w it to eliminate the manual labor of weeding between the rows of plants. Glyphosate has been linked to developmental problems such as autism. In fact the average American woman's breast milk has glyphosate in it. It's also a known carcinogen. It seems every time it's mentioned gmos are bad it's never discussed and poorly understood why. By the way Monsantos flagship product is glyphosate/roundup. So yea they have helped produce copious amounts of food for a lot less effort but at the expense of causing long term human mutations and suffering.
No bees would eventually result in no people either.think on.They may do good now, just wait until they shut down every single private small non Comercial grower. Oh, and not to mention, their products are killing off bees. You do know what happens with out been, right? No more flowers, no more fruit, no more plant pollination. Believe me I'm far from.a tree hugger, but bees play a huge role in the life cycle of plants in the wild. And who doesn't love honey.
good,,i been here at the farm a little over a year,,really like it here,,folk like that need to go back over to rollitup were they belong,,nothing like great conversation and one these idiots show up,,to troll and break great discussion,,everyone is intitaled to there opinions and welcomed,,what he was doing was intentional,,why,,we all here for entertainment and study to be better at what ever we do,,lets get back to focus and start giving these newbies great idea's and help when needed,,even at my age i still pickup tricks,,we all need to focus on this to make a great gardener out of themit Donsent do any good to talk to him hez already been banned. Lol

?? Before all this bread was not high priced..Monsanto is the rallying cry for a bunch of idealist, zealots who depend on that mantra in exactly the same way religious zealots shill the holiness of their deity or theological cause. It 100% mimics the techniques of the anti-vaxers as well. They employ the exact same techniques:
- Slogans: "GMO is evil!" "GMO is killing us!"
- Unsubstantiated assertions: "Do you know that Indians have been committing suicide because of GMO crops!"
- Ad Hominem attacks: "You're obviously too stupid to see the evidence!"
- Straw man arguments: "What? Are you working for Monsanto? Are they paying you to say this?"
- Hot buttoning: "Monsanto is evil and you're defending this evil company!"
- Hysteria / Hyperbole: "Fine. You're going to die and all the biodiversity is going to be destroyed by this GMO business!"
- Outright lying: "Monsanto has sued farmers out of existence for false reasons!"
- Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc: "Well, ever since we started using GMO, bad thing has been on the rise!"
- Cherry Picking: "Monsanto has sued farmers for X." (never explaining the full legal details)
- Confirmation Bias: "I read on XYZ website how people who eat GMOs are complaining about X diseases now.¨
- Anecdotal evidence: "My friend/cousin was sued by Monsanto." Or, "Since I switched to all organic, I feel better."
Here's the truth. Once we marry ourselves to an ideal, a cause, a thing, we become completely incapable of actually critically thinking about it. We lose touch with reality. Our emotional "buy in" prevents us from being objective and honest with ourselves. We perceive attacks on the idea as an attack on ourselves. We employ all sorts of fallacies and zealotry.
Does this sound familiar? Does it remind you of the tactics religious people use? Of course it does.
Now, there are certainly some studies done that show potential for danger in certain GMO crops. But the zealot / "bias confirming" individual sees those as the most important studies, all the rest (the, LITERALLY, thousands upon thousands done all over the world) that show that GMO's are safe, don't count. They are discounted.
The stories about how evil Monsanto is are elevated to gospel. People who doubt them are attacked. People who approve of them are deemed good. But as the actual, verifiable facts show, Monsanto is just a company. It is a mixture of good and bad (and there are things I don't like that they do), but Monsanto is no more evil than Google or Facebook or Microsoft or GM or Kroger. As a human organization it does things that we might not approve of, but the massive attention it gets is bloated by uninformed, fact-denying zealots who see their cause as righteous and any "white lie" told to destroy Monsanto is ultimately good and just.
Truth is find evidence that Monsanto is evil. And no, Wikipedia doesn't count. mean while i am going to tend to my GMO crops that will guarantee me money in the bank :) Hey look no insect damage :)
PS: Think of it this way with out GMO that loaf of bread would cost you 20 bucks now how many people are starving to death

?? Before all this bread was not high priced..
We can feed the world without GMO greed.. They want control of seed re use that has been done for thousands of years..
the seed patent is enough right there as well as the glyphosate use
Enjoy your GMOs I stick with what works for us real food, real people Judge Judy told me so and her decision is final....
Chicken man that is great about people they can choose there life style , and what they eat
as for your prices going up well that is pretty simple .
In USA alone 10 acres a min of farmland is being lost , so with that so is production of food its all about ,supply and demand , bro .
With geological area weather patterns changing drastically this also causes shortages and harvest damage is Monsanto to blame for all of this also ???
If you break it down GMO and climate change work together wheats are genetically altered so they need less wate, So in drought areas they will be able to flourish
I am not here to change anyone's views just saying is it really that bad
Chicken man i challenge you using only court documents and original source materials, find evidence that Monsanto is evil. And no, Wikipedia doesn't count.
GMOs have a very long history. In fact, they've been around for thousands of years. So perhaps the conflict over their safety and efficacy shouldn't be about whether they're safe for humans to consume, but rather how they will impact long-term, sustainable agricultural efforts.
“Essentially, farmers have been modifying crops for thousands and thousands of years — we’ve been cross-breeding our best possible, most productive hybrids to create the best crops,
GMOs are just the next level of agricultural advancement. What’s different is a new gene is being inserted into a crop which otherwise wouldn’t be there.
And Contrary to popular belief, humans have been messing with food and its genes for a long time, even if they originally gave most of the control to nature. Since the advent of agriculture 12,000 years ago, farmers have strived to improve their crops’ durability, resistance to diseases and pests, and satisfaction to humans as much as possible.
If you think about it we altered these plants so much that they developed into crops that would never survive in the wild without human care
Plants such as strawberries, wheat, cabbage, corn, and almost all the rest of our crops” descended from ancestors that were nothing like strawberries or wheat or corn from back in the day.
If we’re fighting over-industrialization of agriculture, “GMOs are the wrong battleground.” With the population to be in the 7,716,749,042 by 2020 and losing farm land what other means would you impose chicken man ??? organic growing that truly is a fail if you want to feed 8 billion people
in order for organic to compete for one more land is needed per crop
Blah blah blah..
Blah blah blah..
