They are Current Culture bulkheads,

Seems these are the ones everyone is using. I'm fixing to build a 4 plant site so just ordered 10 of these bad boys. What size hole saw did you need to make that hole for those bulkheads? I've got a hole saw kit but not sure I have one that big.

3-7/8 is what you need. Both my net pots and 3 inch bulkheads took the same bit. Bulkhead holes took some minor cleanup w the dremel to get them to seat in there nice.

I imagine a 4" hole saw would not be too big, that's only 1/16" clearance all the way around if the 3 7/8" is tight. I have access to a 4" without spending anything.

I dont know what the tolerance is but for the record they do specify 3-7/8 lol. I didnt need to take much, mostly just clean up the edge. You could do a test hole in something and see what it looks like.

With a gasket on the inside, you should be fine with 4 inches IMO.
I love my rubber maid collection.10-42g.
Like CB is doing with proper support under the can, the bulkhead and Rubbermaid should hold up wonderfully.
If and when I do hydro this will be the way for me I believe.

Made some good progress today and got most of the insulation done. Im using a fortuitous dead space above the grow area for my power management cubby and to route the exhaust duct out of there.

I knew when I laid eyes on the little brute 10gal it was the one lol. Plus you can actually get them, which is a big plus these days.
Fyi- I only needed to elevate the buckets ~8 inches to clear the plumbing (3" sanitary tee+ bulkhead). I'm at about 24" from the floor to top of the bucket fully assembled. The bulkhead collar threads down on to the fitting from the inside of the bucket w the gasket/flange glued to the drain underneath.

Good morning everyone. Anyone else like to make their coffee, go open up the tent and hang out with their plants while the sun comes up? It has become my favorite morning ritual.

Got everything decked over and test fitted. Big relief. Now I'll take the plywood panels out to the shop and get after all the rough edges with my router and a good sanding before mildew primer and paint. Should be able to get a leak test done and start circulating some water by this weekend if everything goes well.

Nice. Have you tested the structure with the cans full of water yet? That is going to be a lot of weight to carry without something under those inside edges of your shelves.

Estimate - 2 cans, ~25 gallons each, 50 gallons @ 8.3 lbs per gallon = 415 lbs. Not sure what your total water volume will be so a guess would be 25 gallons each.

What is the distance between your containers and the ceiling? Looks like it's getting tight on vertical space.

I just set the buckets in there to test fit the holes. They'll each have little base under them sitting on the concrete so the structure doesn't actually support any of the weight of it. The air in my basement is conditioned and typically ~70 degrees, so the idea was, to insulate the buckets and plumbing from the grow space while pulling cool air through the lower area around me buckets.

I'll have room for a 4ft plant max, but I dont think I'll ever grow them that tall. I really want to learn how to grow a shorter plant but spread out to fill the space so that's what I'm shooting for. I measured my mature plants in flower now and the bulk of it is only around 24"-30" above ground. If I can keep it in there I'll be ok. Worse case I have weed growing up through the stairs and I gotta tell my wife it's time to upgrade grow space again.

Well shit, one of the bulkheads has the wrong gasket, it's so thin the collar bottoms out before it even makes a seal...On top of that, ooks like a few people have received this particular one and had the pleasure of figuring that out as well, since the slip is marred to shit. 10 days out on another one. Bah.

You should check out the Northern Scrogger "scrog school" series on youtube. He covers the process a-z in real time. The videos seem long but most of the information comes in the first few min with gems scattered throughout. I'm in veg week 4 of 8 with plans to scrog during at my grow journal https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/purple-ghost-candy-grow-journal.145389/ if you're interested in following along.

I got a couple, I can spot you one if you are in a pinch, just replace it.

That's is very generous of you Moe, I appreciate the offer. I still have a couple weeks left on the plants in my tent before I can move gear over and fire up the new setup anyway, so I'll be ok. Still irritating, I waited 10 days to get it in the first place lol.
