anyone have a link to the exact bill? the house bill that was voted on wasnt that bad, but everyone here hated that too. im sure its somewhat similar. but alot of people dont even read the bill, they hear richard lee and big biz and get scared to death.
if you are a good grower, you will still thrive. there is always going to be a connoisseur market. the only people who are going to get hurt are the ones growing outdoor-whatever buds.
the answers below are from the house bill, but im sure if i read through the actual bill, i could answer those questions as well.
1. Were is it written that the MMJ laws will be in effect in lieu of this bill.
doesnt make sense. maybe you meant WHAT and not THAT
it makes perfect sense...where does it say that all medical laws wil be unchanged
2. Where does it state how you will be able to apply for commercial licenture.
$5000 for license, $2500 for renewal each year...seems very fair to me
ok but what are the requirments
3. what restrictions are placed on comercial growers limits and standards. (chemical pestacides ?Genetic modifications?)
not sure
4. as kushpheen stated : what constitutes smoking with a minor present? I mean im sure i can get tilted on some 151 in front of as many children as possible and be scott free. WTF ?
you shouldnt be able to smoke anything in front of children, this is the same for cigs. unless youre taking that 151 & spitting it at the children, it has no effect on them. 2nd hand smoke kills....thats a fact
5. can you grow in your lil cramed ass 5x5 if minors live in the same house?
not sure about this one either, but commerical growers have to provide security of some type.
i was reffering to personal growers in there home
6. what if you live next to a school?
as long as its inside your residence, you are OK
7.will 18 and over patients be able to access medicine?
i think it was 21....could be wrong though
No right now an 18 yr old can get a rec and go to a dispensary
all i know is this, i havent read the bill, so im not sure how im voting just yet.
but prohibition made the bootleggers rich. sure they made a fortune when it was illegal, but the ones who did it correctly made even more money.
i dont even think this will pass, its going to take 3-4 more bills before we actually legalize it. i think its a good thing to have it legalized, its a step in the right direction at least
that only pertains to people WITHOUT a medical license... To answer skyhi's question on med patients that are under 21 with a docs rec.. It would stay the same beacause theres the grandfather law , which means that they'd still keep their med lic and still be able to medicate..
it doesnt have to state it in the bill... look up the grandfather law bro.. been around for quite some time.. plus this bill doesnt pertain to med patients..
We cant let the goverment take over our culture.
I mean does anyone really care if its legal or not?
You do what you do regardless , so why give them a little control of it?
If youve got your shit on lock then this is usless to you. great its legal now, what are you going to be doing different? Youre going to be working twice as hard to get meds out to people while recieving less for your work.
Growing good weed is an art. not all growers can get the great medicinal value from any weed, the great taste and smell.
I will be voting no most definatley
What they should do is decriminalize, make the current system more legitimate, and have a limited tax and regulation on the collectives. They should allow the community & culture decide.
bro its a LAW it doesnt have to be worded into the bill..
its a LAW that this bill wont trump prop 215 ?
And crystal meth production is going up either way son I hate to tell you,
Also if you CA dudes could be kind enough and tell me just exactly what you contributed to the herb game I'd appreciate it
thanks for the clarification lostSkyHi, your not getting it. It would have to expressly say in the bill that this invalidates SB420 and prop 215 and because it does not say anything to that affect, it does not change the medical side. That is just Law 101.
I belive you about the law, but do you honestly think the Mmj communit won't be affected?thanks for explaining it better lost.. lol..

Read the bill multiple times. This is complete death sentence if voted in. I'll be voting no with just about everyone else in cali. I'm pretty sure this isn't going to pass, but I'd say within 5 years something similar will. Its just too soon and the tides haven't completely turned yet. This bill is too in favor of government and very oppressive. It isn't legalizing anything, it is putting further restrictions on something. A very pseudo-legal bill. I mean, these are the same people that didn't want anything to do with MMJ, now they see the dollar signs and that they can't touch any of it and they are getting very pissed. They don't like the idea of seeing people not paying taxes for something that is so valuable. These are the same people that are throwing us in jail every day for any minor infraction, and now we want them to "regulate & control" the very plant that they have been demonizing for decades....? I realize that legalization NEEDS to happen, but this isn't legalization. This is a money making bill at the expense of the people that fought long and hard to get MMJ. This is a bill to push everyone out that made cali the weed capital of the us, and put uncle scam into the mix where he wants to be.
Anyone that votes yes is very misinformed about capitalism in general.
