That's the whole Idea with the scrog set up. And im willing to bet these lights with the higher wattage diodes have better penetration then you think.

I think this pretains to any light though. It's pretty hard to penetrate through fan leafs as big as your head. They become unruley and occupie every square inch of space and nothing under the canopy is really getting any light. I used to do a few different strains at once then I wised up. Had the same problems some would be short some would turn into giants. I have found over the years to just do one strain at a time in one grow area at a time. I start from seed on a new strain only feminized. Start a few more than I need just in case. Once they are all muture I clone all the tops for my second run. If they all survive and I have surplus plants it's not hard to find them a home. Nothing goes to waste. I LST all of them in home made tomatoe cages this controls their height and supports them when big ole fat buds form. Trim off all lower branches only leave 6 to 8 shoots per plant. I use one 1000 watt HID and a light mover 6 rpm. 16 to 18 plants in 3 gallon pots covers a 4x9 area. Since all the plants have their own cage it isn't hard to rotate them every couple weeks for maximun density. produces a couple plus pounds depending on the strain. I want to switch to LED though as penetration is only about 8 inches deep with the HID anyway. Heats an issue in the summer and I must buy a new Hortilux eye for every run to maintain intensity. My current run with 3 weeks to go medical MJ. Sorry I have no journals. This run has 18 plants in it.

I got my 6 arjans haze #3 in the flower room now and 3 blackstars hung still got one to hang but I gotta wait for the other light rail.

Daamnnnn that shit is bright my friend. How is the heat in there after those things have been on 12 hours. Is the forth one going to be in the same area as those three. Wow I just can't believe how bright that is. I mean the picture is painful to look at I can only amagine being in there hope you are wearing eye protection. Like Norm Abrams says I would like to take a moment to discuss shop safety. But seriously be careful of your peepers they are the only ones you have. Looks good. Those things should really blow up now with all that power.:handshake

I think it has to do with the high par and uv spectrum's. The 4th light will be hung on the 2nd light rail I am waiting on. I plan on running both rails side x side with 2 lights on each rail. Or I might just add 3 feet to the current rail and run 2 motors on one rail and 2 lights per motor. i haven't decided yet.

You have to, must wear protective lenses or you'll burn your retinas

a good way to test to feel how powerful those leds are is to close your eyes and face the leds.. Its like staring into the sun but worst!!

I havent seen any LEDs on light movers yet, would like to see how that works out.

Have you ever tested your lights to see what their actual wattage is? Just curious. Look like they are doing good. plants looking real nice and starting to resin up and probably only half way done! :poolparty

I havent checked the actual wattage my self but several others on other sites have and they say its between 340-360 actual watts. I would guess 20 watts goes to the cooling fans. The resin is getting very frosty even on the bigger fan leaves I can rub them and my fingers smell like grade A dank.

I got the 4th light up. I ended up just using 2 drive motors on the 7ft track and 2 trollys linked together on the rail. I still have 2 more trollys I can use so that means I can add 2 more lights in the future and add some length to my track so I can add a 4th stinkbud system.

Ok sorry for the delay in updating. I have been experiencing root rot with my lemon skunks. I think I have the situation under control now, and the arjan's haze's I had to pull out of the system because the system was leaking and needed to be repaired. But after all the stress I put on these little girls they are still throwing out hairs and growing like crazy.

We allways have a few bumps in the road when you first set up, a little adjustment here and a little there.

With your root rot problem was it cause of water temp?

I freeze 2 liter soda bottles, tie a string arround the neck, throw them in my res, and just change them out daily. I also put Great White in my res, my roots never looked better a couple of scoops doese wonders.( Makes em allmost bullet proof)

How many weeks are you into flower now?
Are you past your strech on your first unit yet?

I am in week 6 on the first unit. They have stopped stretching about 2 weeks ago. I just hit them with AN's Overdrive so Im hoping that will fatten them up in the last 3 weeks. The lemon skunks are on week 3 and are throwing out hairs in the thousands it seems. I have been using h2o2 every other day in all the rez's. I think I am having a DO problem in the water the temp seems to be about 70 so that's not too terribly hot I don't think but that combined with low DO in the water is what is causing the issues I think. But good news they don't seem to care and are doing great.

Im not sure what you mean but I paid pretty close to 600 for each of the lights. as far as the flower units i built DIY style and I think each one costs about $120 each to build.
