I have re read this post. The problem starts with a low germ rate, before ever hitting the soil. I think this is a simple learning curve, iron out the final little details like the humidity dome, gently moistening soil after sprinkling fine soil on top of barely buried seed, etc.
If the soil was too hot, the seedling would germinate, get an inch or so long and then just quit growing as their young roots grow just long enough to get burned and you will wonder why your seedling quit growing and just sits there. But I'm thinking, they have to sprout in order for the roots to get burned, so you probably don't have that problem.
