Springtails..! 😠

Was in just one catch tray of a blooming plant, all are dead & bone-dry thanks to my tight wet/dry cycle

I suspect that I put a dry catch tray on top of a wet tray and left it for God-knows-how-long then eventually used it without noticing them during one of those 5 a.m. need-more-coffee waterings 😴

The good news de jour is I culled an extra Gorilla Glue in veg and I went through the roots and found them both healthy and pristine, thankfully!
🌱😎👌

springtails are harmless. And i havent seen one since i switched to pro mix. They really like ocean forest even with a good dry cycle they persisted for me.

Nah they don't have a chance in my desert of a garden, they were so dried out that at first I thought they were pollen and I was like oh shit!! LOL if I see them again I'll grab some de

the real event this a.m. was that I got to look at some roots and they were beautiful, healthy white with nothing moving anywhere, I'm still a little on edge from that random bug I spotted in a rootball about a month ago, so this helped today!

Well the leaves are all at different states of yellow to green (or purple) and some are just not greening up much. Seems all their nutrients go into flower making. Which is ok by me. :-)

i wont give a heavy dose of nutes. I always like to feed a little each time. Just some plants were more effected than others by the bugs and the treatment.

So we are doing the best we can and are ending up with some good smelling and surprisingly dense and resinous buds. I think the denseness comes from the higher ratio of nitrate with very little ammonium and maybe the silica as well. But it is very noticable.

Bunch of pics from the last few days.

What is the above plant ☝🏼

first flower close up is a Blue Lemon Thai kinda thai/ sativa leaning.

and the second close up is a Black Widow x Blue Lemon Thai. And quite indica leaning.

they are not great examples of the potential these strains can achieve. There are good ones in the beginning of this thread. these went through stretch deficient and root damaged. But the flowers are still pretty high quality. Good genetics and good environment goes a long way. And fast reaction time. I was not prepared before.

Goddamn they’re thick!!

they are spaced apart in growth. A couple are only half way there. Still couple weeks I think on the first pair. And the phenos are all over the place. But im guessing 9-10 weeks for most. Nitrogen deficiency shortens flower time. So they could finish faster.

honestly these are only like 2/3 the size I was getting with these seeds. Maybe smaller. I hate to compare pics with the real good ones. The deficiencies and pesticides/ fungicides take a toll on the roots For sure.

Just a note. Where fan leaves died from the deficiencies or the bugs chewing on the roots the bud development becomes crappy. The leafier plant is bigger and has way more flowering sites. Thats the sativa hybrids. They have fewer leaves to begin with. Now the thick indica is different. I have been taking leaves she gives up easily the whole time since stretch. I can see the inside buds need more light and air. The blooming flowers are smaller than the ones just next to them on the outside. But if a leaf holds tight with a little jerk i leave it.

Thats all I got for now. Im babbling high. :-)

what are you using as your nitrate source? I've also notice nice improvements in density with kelp in flower, but it eats a lot of calcium and magnesium, carbonates. Those colas look really thick, long creeping bush, nice job. I like the creeper type strains, that gene type has great vigor.

Using RO and distilled water as I am, really helps, I think. benefits from building your own buffers, no doubt. But wish I had a good natural source of water, instead.

both the ch9 website and the new Mendocino something site are gone.

shame. They were freebies on attitude for a long time.

and its the best pot i have grown so far. And by far.

but its time to move on.
What will you plant next? I’m going to try to pop some new seeds called Boreal Lights, have you heard of them?

no never heard of them. I got 4 10 packs of humboldt seed company stuff from the potm prize and still have half packs of some useful seeds i got a couple years ago. I will keep planting a different seed or pair every week or two like always. I even have some ch9 stuff and stress seeds from a bunch if plants. Plus an accidental open pollination of my whole flower room during the root aphid outbreak.

Theres plenty of variety to keep coming.
