Ok so my mix per cf

Base
  • 1 part SPM
  • 1/4 part lump charcoal
  • 1 part lava rock
  • 1/4 part worm castings
  • 3/4 part compost
Amendments
  • 1 cup bat guano
  • 1/3 cup sea bird guano
  • 2/3 cup bone fish meal
  • 2 cups kelp meal
  • 1/4 cup crab meal
  • 1/8 cup neem
  • 1/8 cup karanja cake
  • 8 cups rock dust
I then top that with a layer of compost mixed with EWC. Then I laid down my organic shredded hardwood mulch.

I am going to top dress with malted barley flour and water that in and let her soak for a month. She will be ready to run when I finish this cycle.

This is my first time utilizing hardwood mulch but I've read of its benefits. It's an awesome nitrogen fixer and it's loaded.with nutrients.

I'm getting a potassium issue. I ordered langbeinite to get a hold on it. I don't think it's causing major issues, just grabbing from a leaf here and there.

Forgot to mention i saw a few of my mite hunters running around. They were adults. I read they starve pretty quickly. At least they'll handle the problem at hand. Sucks I'll have to bud wash to remove the dead ones but whatever. When I harvest I'm going to cut everything down to about an inch high so the h miles will handle any stragglers.

Neoseiulus californicus is what I need. They can can without food forever and tolerate dry conditions.

I've read the lagbeinite takes awhile to break down. I was reading your mix curious on the 8 cups of rock dust? Why so much?
Hmmm...hadnt hear that. I guess I will have to concentrate on liquid kelp feeds for a little while.

I opt for the high side of the recommended dose as far as minerals because I know I won't have to worry about them for years. Want to make sure there's enough there at any time.

My rock dust comes from my bags of lava rock. I go at it with a sledge. There's usually 6-8 cups of dust just from that. I learned vigoro is the worst lava rock ever. Might as well buy granite. Flowerock is the way to go. Nice airey pieces with lots of pores.

Thanks for the heads up @CaliRooted. Wonder if I make up a compost slurry and add the langbeinite and some kelp meal, fulvic acid and +life microbes if I could get some benefits a little faster.

I had to pull the trigger. I snagged the 2x phantom 315cmh 3100k. Got em for 370 a pop I think. Had to do a payment plan lmao. By the time it's paid off it will have paid for itself in electricity and yield x2.

I blame @DemonTrich for this obsession.

Nice, 315's kick ass! It's nice to see the bright white light shining down on your flowers and get the true colors of the nugs. Less heat, better light. Can't hardly go wrong. So far I've used 400 hps, 600 hps, purple led's and the 315 is my favorite by far. The 600 would have been if it wasn't for that yellow light.

I love CMH. I start getting frosted fan leaves at week 4 of flip.

I am going to end up running these another 4.5 weeks. I'm getting my first round of pistil maturing. I won't be harvesting until full pistol maturing with a full set of white foxtails.

I'm finally getting a feel for where my soil stands. I feel like i have filled in a lot of blanks.

As I said I just went with the dummy proof mix to get my 12 plant bed starting strong out the gate. It may start a little hot but some worm work and cover crop should work that out.

Update....12 plants may be pushing it. I may want to start with 8.

Happy little friday. Did my last kelp meal top dress along with langbeinite im feeling like my soil mix is finally balanced.

Maybe a compost slurry this weekend and water only from there to harvest. I may cheat and add some +life also.

@Farmer P can't wait to get the 315s in. I'm sure you already know that these phantoms with square wave ballasts are known for 0 spectrum shift.

Due to alternating current which come in pulses a cheap hps will fluctuate it's spectrum.

Got my white widow, AK, BlackBerry, and northern lights seeds in yesterday. I think I'm going to do a white widow run next go.
