The Oakland thing is saying that ONLY those 4 will be able to supply the Dispensaries, and that any other grow, except personal only...will be illegal-- At least that is how I am understanding it--

If I am wrong, will someone pls clarify??

So 215 won't be effect huh???

is this only for oakland?

i believe its for oakland only. and yes i do think it means that oakland growers are considered illegal unless they are one of the 4 factories. i could be wrong, but thats what i gathered from it.

this whole situation scares the shit out of me i must admit.

Well if prop 19 passes they wont have to worry about med patients. There wont be any.

The only way to fight this is to join up together and form a union and a common Cooperative. It would take some vision and a whole lot of work but it can be done. If we pool together our resources we can make this happen. Regardless of if Prop 19 passes or not we need to get organized. Imagine the strength in California we could have if we were to lets say pool together 50 growers at first and create a new Stuatory Cooperative. Listen people... In Frisco they allready have huge factories growing bud ... take the time and check the public records.. You can get a permit in Firsco right now to grow over 1000 plants! All you have to do is pay the yearly fee.... If we organize we can make a stand . If we just sit back and say " Im beat I cant do anything about it" well then you are. How do you guys think unions in the past and present have begun? Just like this! There are allready unions in Frisco for dispense workers. I will have more concrete information on dates to meetup for hard facts and information from a Union Rep and a lawyer that will help us form this new legal entity. Thanks Garden of Dreams and budfriend .. Lets make this a reality..

It is going to be hard.. .they have norml in their pocket and are talking a good game. It will be a hard one to combat. They have already won the first of many battles in this new war by alienating 215 mmj patients within oak town.

I am sure someone can fight it but will we have the money as they will be sucking it all up.

i hate it when people use this comparison. how many microbreweries you think there are? not very many compared to the amount of growers. how much more is a microbrewery making per 6 pack as apposed to generic big name beer? maybe 5-10 bucks tops. whip-ty-fuckin doo. at least you can compare it to the wine industry which kind of makes sense. but the whole beer comparison is ridiculous. either way, prop 19 is not a good move for the cannabis scene what so ever. if you think it is then your ignorant. point blank.

my point is if they drive the price down to a point so low, it doesnt matter if you have the best herb in the world, it still wont be worth anywhere near what it is today. and it wont be worth it to grow indoors when your not making shit per pound. you would still have to produce 100's of pounds, which in turn, kills small/medium growers. basic economics.

some...Would argue that the price per pound is over priced now. I don't know if you run a from a house or a warehouse but, if you get the right power rate no way it takes 4500-6000 a P. And if you think your shit is worth 6Gs you're not ignorant, your just stupid.

And I'm sure the patient barely making ends meet, who is paying 350 an o, is going to benefit. But fuck him right as long as the price is keep high.

4500-6000 per whole one? what fantasy world are you living in? this is california, and when dealing with clubs 3400-4000 is the most they like to pay for top shelf. And this number keeps dropping steadily while power prices and living costs go up steadily. the clubs are the ones who make all the money bro, not the growers. clubs mark up the bud extremely high from what they actually pay for it.

You can bet if it passes, they make our grows illegal. Sighting, safety and plenty of product from 4 super grows. Even though, we won't stop and then bam we're fucking illegal!!!!! screw this

Well duh, but that translates to 6000 per pound up thru to the patient. And that's really what matter right?Do you sell directly to the patient? no, or most don't, but unfortunately they are the ones lost in this.

I sure as hell am not going to benefit from this. i'm in the process of opening a club myself but, I'm not affraid of the competition, if this is what it's going to take to take this thing to the next level, then let's get it moving, get some people out of jail and stop arresting sick people.

Now that makes sense, ho! Just another dollar bill seeker. Gonna get rich behind the "helping patients" angle huh? You just lost all credibility. YOU FAIL!!

And, for your future insults I say.... FUCK OFF

There is nothing wrong with making a living, is there? Call it greed if you like, I call it making a living. If I spend my own money, time and use my own space for growing more than just my own, is it really wrong to want some compensation? This should be no different than anything else in that regard.

That's the rub, will 215 be affected? John Russo (the city's attorney) has advised the city council that their plan is not only against federal law, it is against STATE law. I believe that was in the LA Times article, which was the only one that gave a vote count, with Nancy Nadel voting no (surprising, that woman's got her fingers in some very chocolatey and rich pies) and Jean Quan abstaining after talking up this measure like it's the next best thing after sliced bread and flushing toilets.

So, how's this city council going to work something that violates their own state's laws? That's the next thing to watch for. Suits could ensue.
is this only for oakland?
Yes, only for Oakland. All of it, beautiful glorious Oakland.

While I think the Oakland council is full or morons who are more worried about money in their pocket than the law or helping patients, this kind of thing is inevitable. Small business having to fight for their space among big business is just part of our everyday capitalism in America. The WalMart analogy is appropriate. Is there some city WalMart has failed to infiltrate? How did that work? Sometimes small business wins, by having a better product, by having what the customer wants. The government can't protect you from big business. Refining our skills and becoming better growers would hold us in better stead than asking the government to shelter us in a way that it doesn't in any other industry.
Whatever analogy you use, we're all on the same side here. Let's use that to help SoCalSinner's effort or boycott dispensaries that would use the factories or protest the city council or bring a suit against them. Advocating violence or making this about anything but our legal avenues of protest only makes us look like the stupid stoner criminal stereotype most of us work to fight against.
Those who think this would require the dispensaries to ONLY use the factories, could you provide a link where you read that? I didn't see that and that would actually be the opposite of capitalism. I know that must violate some trade/monopoly laws that would justify law suits, in addition to it violating Prop 215.

But Kaplan said the premises of small growers could be a fire hazard, citing fire brigade reports about the danger of the many high-powered lamps used indoors to help cannabis grow.

hahahahaha who is this person speaking this bullshit!!! Someone shut em up! We have to start letting others no about this. A lot of growers where i am from are voting no on this bill. But we are gona have to do more to get the truth out to those who r blinded by this bs! Anyone got any ideas??

You know what shocked most in this thread.
Is Keyplays comment. Progressive thinkers?
The progressive is nothing but a socialist.

Back on topic. This is disgusting. Big companys are gunna ruin us small growers..
The comparisin to Wal mart was perfect. The next move will be to shut down there grows here. And just start importing from third world country's

BOSSMAN88188, You got that right! I really hope more people will start to understand what you have just posted above! Here:

The progressive is nothing but a socialist! ..READ COMMUNIST! socialism..is only a step before communism! Back to the thread now! Thank You for posting that! monkey5

I was going to ask you for a definition of a "progressive" even though I used the term "progressive thinker". After mulling it over, I decided my request would cause you to "over" exert whatever it is you have between your ears.

Could you answer this? Do you live in Oakland?

Is there some city WalMart has failed to infiltrate? How did that work?

Yes and that city is called San Francisco. They refuse to let big business take over their city. The PEOPLE of SF will not tolerate it.

I really think prop 19 is going to fail. There are too many conservative people in California not too mention all the growers who are in opposition to it.

I think we need to get the information out there to all our friends. Get it to the clubs and have pamphlets for them to distribute to patients. Educate people on what they want to do. Lets get the ball rolling on stopping this from passing. Lets get some anti prop 19 propaganda rolling here. Next week I will work on a pdf and make it available for people to print out so they can take it down to the local clubs. If we raise awareness when it comes time to vote......we will win!
