This is a good one. I saw that before and its impressive as fk. I love to go that route and if I had to start over I'd definitely get that equipment.

I still liked being there with a cup of coffee & smoke a joint at dawn waiting for enough sun to whack a ball. Longest days of the year were the best just the birds, morning dew, maybe a bit of mist over the lakes and a few early rising workers.

The only thing missing is a couple of camera's... that is my fav time of the day. The day holds so much promise at that point.

0515 Monument Valley. Sunrise was 2 minutes old. We left the hotel at 0400 Talk about being in touch.... Just me, the guide and GOD! (we won't mention the 3 ft tall Ravens that were looking for breakfast, including my breakfast burrito)

Thanks for sharing AA, beautiful pic!

Its gettin real now. Irrigation is hooked up and automated on twice per day feedings. They're sucking up about 6 gallons a day. I'll still do my weekly maintenance flush by hand with the wand though to see where each plant is at.

Dude! My mouth is going dry just thinking about what any of that is going to taste like! All your color and more is back, fantastic recovery

What light are you using? and is that a photographers umbrella i see over it? Good way to distribute the light, i have a few i use for portraits but never thought to use one for distribution.

Thanks man. I use 1000w MH/HPS lamps. Those are parabolic reflectors built for HID Lights, but they do look like photographer umbrellas lol.

I think Im getting the hang of this coco thing. And I think I like it. I like it a lot. This is one of the spare clones I had kept for some reason under a single T5 in the header house, and she is not slowing down in the little pot. It just gets hand fed whenever I'm in the shed, couple times a day.

Right on, 100% germination across the board. 35/35 seeds popped roots and got planted. I'll have to axe 3 of these to stay in my plant count once I take cuttings for new mothers of my keeper strains. Likely the mighty mite.

Decided to stick with good old fashioned promix seed starting mix because It's what I'm used to and I'm fairly confident I wont mess them up in the seedling stage. Was tempted to try planting in coco and perlite, but I had no perlite and figured pure coco could retain too much water for seedlings, and possibly give me other nutrient related issues for such fragile little plants. Dont wanna take any chances with these genetics.

But.. I'm sprouting these in my house first and keeping them here for a while to off-gas the fungus gnats before moving them to the shed lol.

Cant shake the feeling I should have sprouted just one more seed...

Also, I decided to splurge a little on this grow. I'm usually a very simple feeder and dont use a whole lot of extras besides the base nutes and maybe some calcium. This run I've added a few things based on advice from trusted growers I know. Im running Great White Mycos and trichoderma with bennies, Enzymes periodically, and Im also adding floraliscious plus back into the mix for a little humic acid and seaweed extract, plus the extra sulphur.
Another thing I've been told I should really be doing is using a 70/30 mix of base nutes and pbp soil bloom just for the first 3 weeks of flower to help initiate budset, then back to base nutes from week 4 onwards. Unsure If I'll go there but I have it if I choose to try it.

Lol I'll snap a pic when I'm down in the Garden. I've been using the Great white and enzymes since the start, going to start FP this week before I flip as it also helps with periods of stress. Floralicious plus I used to use actually and it's really a pretty great biostimulant. Very low usage rates and I'll only use it sparingly once a week or so throughout flower.

The enzymes and Bennificial fungus and microbes is something that a friend recommended I use since I plan to keep these in 1 gallon pots. Small container, hydro-type gardening is fairly new to me. The trichoderma and bennies will keep the roots healthy and protected while the enzymes break down any dead root hairs and removes any excess salt buildup from the coco preventing lockouts and nutrient imbalances.

The important thing for me is that I'm not adding anything that doesnt have a defined and legitimate purpose.

There is a ratio of humic acid to seaweed extract that is supposed to facilitate what these products support. I will have to re search for the info but it was well documented in greenhouse nutrient info and such.

I was growing in ocean forest before and it is plenty ammended with organic inputs and doesnt really need any help in the biology department. But like your coco or I imagine the rockwool grows and now my promix hp only as a medium I have been considering this sort of additive. Well the myco is already in the pro mix. Of course PBP contains humic and seaweed already but i tend to feed light and am wondering if its enough without the organic soil ammendments.

I am also investigating nutricote and considering simply mixing it in with the pro mix and watering only. But thats another discussion.

Good morning guys, I have a new query about ppm readings and the amount they eat. This is my records for a KC39 and I see the over feed but the amount it ate and the following readings are good... ph swings but its stable as well now.
I've not followed the ppm reading before and I just like clarification on what I'm seeing
March 18.....Water
March 21 Turned 12/12 both KC & both MC
March 22 Sunday pics ....feed 6/6/10
March 27.....Water.......ph 6.80....ppm 371 TOO LOW GET IT UP NEXT FEED
March 29 ......tied down and spread out.
March 31......10/10/15.........ph 6.55.....ppm 675 still too low keep with max nute's add Kool Bloom next feed.
April 4 .......water..............ph 6.79......ppm 400 ...max nutes next feed..+ kool bloom
April 8 ......Feed ...10/10/15/5.......ph 6.55.................ppm 1206.....oops too high watch this
April 11.....Water ...............ph 6.94......ppm 397....... watch ph ..big ppm drop
April 15 ...feed.......5/5/15/3........ph 6.50.....ppm 810

5:2 SWE/Humic is considered Ideal in hydroponic applications, I remember that from growing tomatoes in school but in peat and coco I believe you need to take into acct some of the natural humates in the media. The FP is 20% kelp extract and 2% humic, Not sure why but I suspect it is because they want you to use diamond nectar as well.. Either way I've used this stuff on its own before and it does indeed do as advertised. But I'll consider adding a bit more humic acid to bump the ratio. I've got a giant bottle at work.

The other addatives are mostly just to keep the roots protected and healthy, and aid with nutrient mobilization and elimination of excess.

You test and record ppm and ph to monitor trends and make adjustments from changes over time. Not to micromanage each watering. It is not accurate to a fault. And dont forget salts attract salts and the medium can hold on to them so they wont show in the runoff always. Plant health is still the main indicator.

Hope this helps.

Figured you would know that. :-)

The old pbp had far more humic but i guess you are right. They have liquid karma for humic and seaweed. Maybe thats the easiest way for me to add it.

Thanks yes I understand that but I don't know not how not to micromanage, I can't spend 4-5 hrs a day in my plant room without micro managing. The reading I'm most interested in is the 1206 after a large feed then a 397 on the following water, That's an 800 ppm drop in readings. Is that a good thing that the plant ate so much and to continue feeding same because it likes to eat? as you recommended I dropped the food and now reading is at 810ppm. My confusion is that if it ate 800ppm on the last feed it will obviously not eat 800 this feed why do I not want to keep feeding heavy at 4 weeks into flower?

I looked into that but liquid karma is only 0.2% Humic acid where Floralicious plus is 2%. LK doesnt even state the % of seaweed extract either so I went with what I'm used to with FP.

iron needed is my suggestion

my opinion at first was Needed Epsons Salt, but scratch that,,, I think they need iron

I couldn't get my plants in Coco to green up until someone recommended a feed with extra iron.

Helped overnight.

I swing both ways on Coco. It can be great and can be an unforgiving mistress

Like i said it is not an accurate reading every time. If you have that much drop after having steady numbers for a while it indicates salt buildup. Good to run just water through and see what comes out before feeding once in a while. Or i like to put a couple cups of water in and let sit a few before feeding to help flush out some buildup. There is always going to be buildup cause the plant wont use all the nutes every time.
