Runnin behind update...

Well I only hand watered the ladies 2 times a day for the 1st 2 1/2 weeks, and then they hit the nutrient solution and bubbles and went crazy, except on 3, but 1 is only half the size of the rest..no biggies...next time I will either use drip to get roots a poppin without moving them, or build another room to veg in and then just move into bloom, that should help for veg.
I figure I will only be hitting 1.5 -2 p's , as this is just a test of this system, I wont cry if it is at that or less.
Here are the ladies from a few days ago, and they are now in bloom, 6 are at 20"-22" tall before flip.....they look ok, certainly have seen better,, and Im learning this as I go so the fact they are still alive and green is awesome....

Looking good! one thing i've noticed about the uc systems, is that all of it's users seem to have one hic-up or two in its' growth rate! just in the beginning and never anything substantial. Im guessing, like said be for, It's the lack of a top feed in the beginning. Anyone ever thought about using a ultrasonic fogger to keep things most in the beginning, just an idea..

EDIT: nutramist makes a nice system which could be hooked to a manifold & fed into each bucket, allowing the mist to flood the void left by the water & exhaust thru the tops, what doesnt get abosorbed by the medium & roots will settle on the foliage.

I think I would just throw a quick top drip and have it recirc. from epicenter...no need to buy any extra doo dads and gadgets when drip will do what I need...and I have no experience with foggers , sounds like someone needs to test it out!!!
I also wouldnt say this was a hiccup, as it was me being not around enough to hand water more than 2 times daily, 5-7 times would have seen better growth for sure, thus shortening my veg time!!

Raise the solution level when the plants are young, especially if they're bare root....submerse to the root crown of the cut and let the UC do the rest.

If you're in RW or STG it's important to not submerse as this may lend toward water logging.

yeah, just an idea.. i've used the nutramist on several occasions, mainly on aero applications with great success. i thnk it would work, but like you said... No need for extras.

Actually CaliC ,more if anything it is that I also already have all the items to put a drip together, just not time this round, and when and if I can afford to test more things, as I am doing with the UC , a mister maybe an option.
Myself, I need to keep things simple right now, and as stated Im new to UCs , that and I'm 1 of the most inexperienced growers around here so , again , just seeing these survive this long, and at least appearing to be healthy, makes me a happy camper!!!!If I am at all successful and see these to harvest that will be a huge accomplishment for me, and a pound or 2 is sweet too!!!!
Thanks for the compliments and advice everyone, lets keep fingers crossed these continue into a healthy bloom cycle as well!!!

Sorry no updates....seems I have no clue on how to grow, not a bright idea to be using these UC's as well, at least not right now.....plants have not grown but an incn since changing nutes and flipping to 12/12, never had this happen, but oh well , they are not dead thats a good thing, just figure too much PPMs , was at 1100, now at 800, no additives just DM One flower, waters at 67*f, 5.7ph, and thats that..oh yeah temps/hum at 76*/50%

Don't know about DM one...you should consider getting the gold series, it seems to work best.

im running uc for the first time also they got to about 24" tall and stopped growing and i had root problems and could not figure out why. well i think i figured out why...i had my air pump in the room and my co2 at 1500ppm on a monitor so i think i was suffocating the plants and not giving them enuff oxygen. i just ran a 3/4" tube from my air pump to outside air so im hoping that brings them back around. i had all kinds of deficiencies and could not figure out why with my optimal settings and feed schedule.

I will update with pics shortly........roots are white and appear to be healthy, the DM One that I'm using I will continue to use( I wont fault a product due to my own errors and that is what this is ), just going to add my nutes properly and using the less is more approach, at 1/2 strength like these systems like!!!
Again new to these systems so a major learning curve from my little soil grows & experiments of the past!!
Thankfully this run is all mine and no pressure from anywhere, but over a pound or 2 would be sweet and all the reason/excuse I need to order and build more of these snazy units!!!

Wow, looks like general toxicity....glad to hear you've flushed and started them with a new batch of nutes. Should correct the problem.

Quick update

Ladies are much happier when I pay attention to them...hmmm what a concept!!!!!!
They were flushed and are at 800ppms/5.8ph , still using DM One flower & CalMag, but that is it, no special extra additives here, just going to let them do there thing this round!!
I'm hoping to harvest a pound or 2(pushing it I know) , and then will improve upon that next run...I hope!!!!!

I agree man, those things look sweet, especially for the first run. Would you recommend the UC system? I have thought about doing a DIY my self.

Thanks for the kind words.....
Yes I would recommend the UC,in fact I just did, as I just got back from my mom pop hydro shop & got them all jazzed up as well, bringing in pics for them to check out soon......purchasing a unit was my option, and probably will put another order in, but will be arranging setting up some DIY for others soon...either way they are well worth it...but this is only my opinion and being a newb ...well....hell you should be happy with end results bought or DIY
