Lovin these OG threads.... For the most part the smell and potency should stay consistent through the years, but I'm pretty sure they are getting harder to grow as the years go by.. Especially if the moms aren't kept nice and healthy they could be harder to dial in ....... also more prone to diseases like PM and have gotten hard to root and lose vigor. I had a really old cut that came from the OC area that I held on to for around 4 years before I let her go, It was said to be the HA but it was just given to me as just OG. When I first got her she was putting out like crazy and rooted in 2 weeks like clockwork.. After the years went by she became harder to root, it took nearly a month no matter what I did and wasn't putting out like she used to.. It could of been neglect on my part when caring for the mom or she just got really old and tired... So I do believe if the mothers aren't taken care of it could have an effect in a bad way afters years go by.....

I've also read JJNYC saying that there is such a thing as genetic drift where plants get tired and loose potency and smell.. He was talking about 2 ECSD cuts that came from the same mother 1 remaining dank while the other once just doesn't smell or hit as hard as the other.. I'm sure there is some truth to this....

Very true statement.. Do you have any pics of the various Ogeez you have run?..

The true, sites up nice but I hear on the high yield maybe she doesn't like what I feed her, but I'm still getting to know her ;) ... Never had the pleasure to run the actual sfv, she been really elusive to me.. From what I remember she has some very nice piney flavor to her.. I've had a fake sfv, that ended up being an s1 or some type of diesel.. IMO

Thanks for the info symbiote, I've heard this before... So would you say none of the cuts on the poll should be there cuz there not "originals"? Just curious on your opinion.. I've seen your work and have mad respect for your skillz bro..

Also the sfv being an s1 of the ghost, makes sense to me because of the very similar flavors out of both.. Could you post some ghost pics?

Searching for.. Got a cut a few months back that ended up being just an s1 of something unknown.. Was very disappointed cuz the source I got it from swore he tried the flowers and tried the pinesol piney goodness...

Was reading this on another og thread that discussed the origin of OG.. Thought it was an interesting read and would be a good addition here..


"In late '93 John from Grass Valley Ca. got the Chem Dog cut. He shared it with me, Jerry(cowboy) from Dibble Creek Ca. and Harold(Putz) from Sunset Beach Ca. Putz had a male he called the secret ingredient. It was a cross of Lemon Thai and an Old World Paki Kush. Putz bred the secret ingredient to the Chem Dog. The buds that came out of this cross were going around So. L.A. county in '95. Someone told Putz that Kush must be so good because it was mountain grown. Putz laughed and told him "this Kush is Ocean Grown Kush bro". The tag stuck and it became known as OG Kush. In the spring of '96 Putz married a girl from New Zealand. Before moving there he sent cuts of his OG to me and Bob(beans) in Salinas Ca. He gave all his P1 stock and all the remaining seed he had to ****(mad dog) from Downey Ca. In late '96 **** sold some seed to some guys in the Valley. That's where the San Fernando Valley cut of OG comes from. It's like the Original only more sat in pheno type. **** sold a cut of the original to a guy in Orange county and that cut is called Larry today. It's still around Orange county. **** sent one other cut of the original OG to a breeder in Europe. As far as I know he never let anyone else have it.

Jerry bred his Chem Dog cut to a Humboldt county indica boy. This was the beginning of his cubing proccess. At BX3 he got a pheno that had all the smell, taste and kick of the Chem Dog, but in a pure indica pheno. Jerry gave this plant to Bob. It became known as the West Coast Dog.
Bob bred this plant to my Old World Kush male. He took a male from that cross and bred it to the OG cut Putz had sent him. This is what made the original Bubba Kush."

Lineage:ChemDawg x [ Lemon Thai x Old World Paki Kush]

Info on the differnt kutz of OG Kush:

Tahoe= cut brough into the community by Swerve. The grower that Swerve got it from had sourced the cut in the Lake Tahoe area in the 90's.

-Larry= The Orange County Larry cut that is availble in the medical scene came from the same Orange County crew that the H.A O.G Kush came from

-SFV= There are a million O.G cuts grown in the S.F.V, however the cut that goes by this name on these forums and in medical disp. came from forum member Swerve

-Ghost= This cut came from ORGNKID, ORGNKID had sold a O.G cut to a Overgrow forum member named "Ghost" who further distributed the cut.

-Tripple OG= This cut came from ORGNKID. This cut is A.K.A Triple X/XXX O.G Kush. Triple O.G was popularly sold to medical patients by the now defunct C.A.L.M disp. of Malibu.

-Abusive= This cut was brought into the community by an overgrow member named "Abusive", believe it or not Abusive claimed to have got the cut through the rapper Snoop Dogg.

-SAC#2= Cut brought into the scene by forum member O.Gkushman, O.Gkushman got the cut from DJ Muggs.

-P.R OG A.K.A Private Reserve O.G= Another O.G cut that ORGNKID brought into the scene. The cut was sold to Med patients as Private Reserve O.G through the now defunct C.A.L.M disp. of Malibu.

-Apothecary = O.G cut brought into the scene by the apothecary seed co's Brett. Brett got it from a high profile Medical MJ activist in L.A back in 1999

-Diablo= This = cut came from the R.D.C disp. In the San Fernando Valley

-Raskal's OG= Another cut sourced in the San Fernando Valley. Cut was bought for several thousand dollers from ******* ***** members by a friends of forum member OGraskal

-HA OG= Cut came from an commercial H.A room in Orange County, grown by the same crew that brought the Orange County Larry cut into the medical Disp.

-Poison OG=Cut came from O.Gkushman, he grew it from seed found in a pound of O.G back in ‘96

-SAC#1 & #3= #1 came from G-Thumb in the San Fernando Valley, #3 came from San Fernando Valley but is very popular in Santa Barbara and sometimes goes by the name “Purple O.G Kush”, the cut was brought into the scene by the owner of the now defunct Hortipharm in Santa Barbara

Wish I had more space on the poll for these missing ogeeeez!

Which cut do you prefer the ghost or the sfv? Would you say the ghost and the sfv are related?
What flavor are they both putting out? Any other info you would like to share as far a structure, growth, feeding regime, training, flower time etc.

That triangle sure looks grade A..which of these four do you have a personal liking to?..

I ran the abusive from PO, and it seemed to be more of a bubba dominant cut instead of a pure OG. But that place is known to mislabel. I remember it did yield really well. IS yours a pure OG?

the abusive is well.....not very og dom....and abusive the person was well not very forthcoming. Ghost is a s1 supposedly of tk from orgnkid that ghost the person passed out. It was just named after him after he was away from the internet for awhile. SFV is just another og from the valley. I've heard many stories on it but I think there are many valley beans sitting with some pretty heady gangsters in the hills. HA. Fi Real.

Great thread man i went with the headband but havent had the chance to smoke most on the list. Shyts str8 fire man one lil piece of nugg left out will stink up the whole block thats the headband im talking about.
Best Og around here anyway. Granddaddy Kush:D took alot from the mom far as density but sets u down nice and kept that real rich coffee/espresso almost chocolate grape sometimes type kush smell from the Elite og. Thru in a pic of the Drunk Og(Elites SFV) i took the male from. Enjoy
