Back on track ... then i hit a male from that batch of tahoe og x Grapestomper seeds to my keeper mom of the grapestomper so it's a perfect mix where it's at now and everyone who's tested them said all females are keepers and def hard to chose which they want to stay lol which is always hard but better then no keepers at all like we been seeing a lot of packs as of late minus my favorite breedrs which will def get nentioned as i come more active here ...but hey if my biggest complaint is people are having trouble picking a keeper then that's good news but all were seeing is big frosty rails of grape cream soda with a touch of fuel and other OG hints of dankness hidden deep in them in the smell and taste so it's for me being a mostly nasty dank lover is perfect mix of sweet and dank ...def makes for a great terpene profile and it's def one of many of my most stable creations also did I even mention the power? If not its not for the casual smokers it's def a high power strain but soon enough I'll be releasing them and there the closest to the original grape stomper I've found to date and I have tested a lot of grapesromper crosses from gage green so def know all about the stomper also i do have an exudes cheese x grape stomper that's another big hit locally and online friends loved of aswell. the blueberry is one that was a dutch passions blueberry find and was a killer pheno found out of 50 seed me and a buddy were on a mission to find this girl since we were told this sour bluebery pheno was in them but was said to be in about 1 out of 100 seed and we cut it close and was #39 so I'll have lots of killer crosses to the sour blueberry as all my patients call it Which overpowers all its hit to but still gonna make a bx so I don't have to mess with fems so the s1 blueberry max has going is gonna be for my use only unless people want fems but def will be making a bx blueberry to another blueberry x nl male i have going now from a batch of old seed i made way back in the day to find a male .but it's one that's def the best of the best blues around and me being aroune indiana it was alwas around alone with my old bubblegum i still have that will def be another I'll break out both are ones people swear are treated with sprays before smoked till they grow them out lol so it's real ;)

So hey Im just a small basement breeder that is more after quilty then quantity and this is a hobby for me to make the best of the best with very elite and forgotten old classics so no hype .I only grow what has been aproved by true pot snobs (me and my parients and friends etc) . I test and run many seed every year and few make the cut to stay in my garden so def dont have anything that's hard to grow or weak in any way so all dank on fire and easy to work with also vigor is a must . All work is stress tested with light leaks and cold to hot shocks aswell as light interruption and mangling of the plants while flowerng so all very hardy since i was alwsys a very productive grower i had to have all solid work but had to be the best with the competition around they all have to be all around great plants so more about me later friends and hope to share some creations sooner then later since This is my life I want to show what i been living for since i was 16 I always dreamed to be where im at now and to me This is like being a rock star but better

If your gear can survive me and my screw-ups...it's solid indeed! lol!! I'm so excited to be running your BB!! I've been jonsing for a real old-school BB forever, but without any luck! I've spent a fortune n beans from DP and DJ Short, and never even got a BB taste or smell from any of them! ROC's BlueHazebx2blu x Rom was the best BB I've had, and it had allot of romulan dominance in the pheno I had too! Still killer, dank old-school shit tho!!

We're definitely looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your stuff! It's the smaller basement breeders like you and ROC (and even BOG started there too once) that are all about the quality and not about making a fast buck, that are keeping the genetics improving! MAXY PAD WEEK 3 UPDATE​

Well folks, once again work has found yet another way of kicking my ass! I lost a couple of key employees and am having to train new peeps WHILE still getting the work done! It's honestly 3 times as much work it seems like! I'd LOVE to get off this merry-go-round, but never seem to be able to hit a jumping off spot where I know I won't land on my face!

At any rate...I've also been busy as hell in the garden, and between the two...just haven't had allot of time for pics and posting. I had originally planned to post up individual shots of each plant at each update...but dragging them out one at a time for pics is a major fucking undertaking with my bad back and knees, so I hope y'all will forgive an old man and let me slide a bit! ;) The last individual shots I did were right at the flip. I'll drag 'em all out again at about mid-flower or when there's some real excitement going on, and again at chop time, (and of course the requisite post-chop pics)! Fair enough?

In the meantime tho...group shots are easier and still give you an idea how things are progressing with the strains.

As a side note, I'd like to give BOG a special shout out and thanks for providing today's "Sunday, lay around the house meds"! Sourbubble!!! Mmmm! That's a special girl BOG! ;) I've smoked some fine weed in my day bro, and that's really about as good as it gets! Gracias!

Well folks, here's what happens when you try to run a dozen different strains at the same time!! From hardcore Indy's to sat-dom crosses! o_O I REALLY need to join "bean-drowner's anonymous" :bag:, but hey...it IS a mother-hunt after all! You can fuggin' forget an even canopy tho! These run from about 3-1/2 feet to 6'-5" tall! As you can see, I have the lamps "stair-stepped".

Maxy Pad - "Motherhunt" 12-strain mixed grow:

In fact, my ceilings are not as tall as I'd like with these Gavitas. (These lamps are VERY bright, strong and hot)! I've gone about as high as I can on my highest lamp, but still burned the top of one of the Grape Romulan plants! :(. I pinched and bent the top over, so as not to lose the whole cola, but it's def a disappointment! The bent top is circled in this pic...

Maxy Pad - "YOUCH Dude...wake the fuck up out there!!!"

The top was not positioned directly under the light, but was off to the side a few inches and still managed to burn. That'll teach (remind, actually...lol) me to check 'em close often!! :facepalm: This damage happened in just a few hours! Most of the stretchers are the Sat-dom strains, but the Grape Rom should be an Indy-dom. I might have gotten a pheno with a little more sativa in the mix...OR (MORE LIKELY) it stretched because I don't have my shit dialed in yet! lol. :wacky: I admit I've been a bit scared of these new lights, so I probably had them a little too high during the stretch. My temps ran a bit too hot a couple of times until I came to an understanding with the AC unit, too! So, I' not ready to point the finger at the strains themselves just yet. Another round or two will tell the tale! :rolleyes:

Maxy Pad - Gavita 750 DE "Light Height":

Hard to see it in this pic, but I'm actually about 14-16" above the tops now, and that seems to be working. Stretch or no stretch, I'll still be able to tell allot about them in the taste/potency/yield departments from this round, and that IS the main objective right now. I've also seen strains that put on a lot of stretch because they are fixing to explode with flower growth and know they'll need the room! ;) Just think what a beast this Devil's Tear will be if she fills up with huge rails now!

At any rate...things are progressing nicely. I was able to get a "rez" set up this weekend complete with pump and stones, so that'll mean my aching back doesn't have to schlepp 15 gals of water a day anymore! But...things are forming up nicely. Now that the stretch is over, they can get down to the business of packing on some flowers!

Thanks brother! Good idea on the S-hook! I will probably try that. My only prob is that the studs in my ceiling are on 24" centers, so I've had to run the hook on that side at a pretty steep angle in order to get the eye-bolt into the stud. (Visible in the pics). Not sure how much more I'll be able to raise that side...but it's sure worth a go. Even a couple more inches would be nice!! I will probably go ahead and raise the others a little more too. If your experience is that they do well at 20" for most strains, I'll try that as my default position and adjust from there. These lights are so new, I've been unable to find any good info on light heights (or much else for that matter). Thanks again!!! Best, -Max

They ARE, aren't they? My last HID grow was under mag thouies and I swear I think these are actually brighter at the 750 setting than they were!! You said you're running at the overdriven setting...what is it...825 watts? How much of an increase in heat/light did you get at that setting? I'm planning to crank mine up when they really start packing on some bulk, but was keeping them down at the native setting (750 watts) thinking that would probably extend the bulb life. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this and anything Gavita 750-related! I've been scouring for info on them, but not finding much they're so new. It's great to find another grower who I know that's actually using them!!! Thanks in advance!! Best, -Max

Im using that gavita control for mine, the EL2 that has all the fancy settings.so you can run these fuckers at any watt you want from like 360w up to about 860w.i got mine set right at 800w.but I ran them all at 750w for a week to let the bulb break in I guess, not sure it was necessary but I did it anyhow.this controller is badass for the money bro, think it was 300.00 and it does all kinds of shit.i set it up for high temp shut down at 88f and it will auto dim at 82f.so if dimming the gavitas dont bring temps down they will eventually just shut down.i was already maxed out with my a/c before I started hanging these but no problems with that controller.plus it has sunrise/sunset feature I set it for 30 mins so it starts my lamps at 50% power and ramps up to full within those first 30 mins.same with sunset, they just slowly ramp down to 400w and then shut off.gives me alot of peace of mind when im up north killin bambie :)

I'm embarrased to admit it, but I bought the controller...hung it on the wall, and even ran the phone cables, but I haven't even tried to turn it on yet. Honestly, I've been so busy with everything in my life, I just haven't felt like taking on another learning curve. That and the plants were BEGGING to be flipped! In fact, that fact pushed me setting up and I cut a couple corners I have great intentions on going back and re-doing.

How hard is it to set it all? It's probably super-simple and once I've done it I'll feel like an idiot! I'm kinda afraid of fucking something up with their photoperiod too, so was thinking I'd get my ducks in a row on it as soon as I chop these. Was it just super-simple?

Hey Mr. Banjo, thanks for posting. If I'm not mistaken, he's not releasing the BB S1s. There will be some killer crosses I've heard about in the planning stages that are soon to come from her tho. I'm running her just out of Chem's incredible kindness, and altho I know he's keeping it locked down (and I promised too as well, which I'd never go back on), I think he wanted me to run it to show everybody the incredible genetics that will be going into those crosses! It's not really intended for the masses, and I just got incredibly lucky! I'll be featuring some (hopefully) good pics of it as she fattens up. I understand she's a huge yielder with huge tight rails! Can't wait to see that!

Super easy to follow using the book that it comes with bro.you can do all your clock setting and programming before you connect the cables to the ballast if it makes you feel better.then once its programed just connect the ballast but make sure they are set to the "ext"setting on the dial a watt on the ballast.if your worried just get it ready and then go into your room 10 mins before lights on and make your final connections and wait to see how they fire up.my temp probe was within 1 degree of my other controls so I never fucked with calibration on it.i got the bigger one just in case I ever wanted to do 2 rooms on a flip and it wasnt much more than the el1.i got a pic for ya ill try to post when i get back in the house, peace

Figures...lol! Well, I'm very familiar with "if all else fails...read the instructions"! :D Admitidly, the only part I've actually read is the section on installing and setting it up. I scanned the operations/programming section and just had to set it aside. I had to do payroll! lol. With my office manager leaving, I'm having to do my job PLUS all payroll, tax filings, payables, etc., etc. yada, yada, blah, blah, blah...I'm so sick of hearing myself say it I could fucking scream!! lol. I'm also procrastinating and I know it! When I do get a minute to myself, there's so many things I "NEED" to do, I get overwelmed and don't seem to get any of them done here lately. I think I'm just really tired!

I don't know about the temp sensor. Actually, I just ran it but haven't even plugged it in. I haven't even read about it. Don't you have to shield it in some way from the lights? I'm not trusting my environmental tools right now! I've got three thermometer/hygrometers, and they all read the same temp, but the RH level will be 10-15 points difference between the three of them with them sitting right beside each other. And none giving the same reading or even being consistently close. I'm sure one of them is probably right! lmao. :confused:
