no offense but you still have a lot to learn before you should go blasting anything.. with that said you should blast onto the pyrex and scrape it onto the parchment.. and that looks better then the last one you posted for sure but still questionable. i dunno why but theres something about that top mini ball valve and the way they call it MB and its suppose to act as a check valve? they also dont use thread tape, that just doesnt seems to legit? id have to inspect it and pressure test things before i could make an actually assessment tho

the one you just showed will hold 1 ounce give or take

this is a very basic video showing the basic set up and use of this type of extractor

No for sure I'm well aware iv got a good bit to learn and usually I would just crack on and do it but with the inherent danger in bho extraction is kinda stopping me from just trying to learn a bit before I even buy anything since if I buy a peice o shite I don't have the money to then buy another better model.
I appreciate the help lads.big time.

Are you suppose to vacuum after the end process?

Blast SAFELY
Purge in a vac oven or chamber. Temps depend on strain and finished product (waxy, shatter, honeycomb, ect). Need at least -29.5ug vac for days and days. Please check out this site and link before buying or blasting anything. Butane is not friendly to sparks and shit. Easy way to blow yourself up, and innocent people and property. Even a cell phone can trigger an explosion.

Check out skunkfarm research. Top noth. Greywolf is the extraction guy I go to for help. Scroll to the bottom for all their work and related links. Read, read, and read some more. Wealth of knowledge and safety precautions.

I have the BVV 3gal vacuum chamber paired to a robinaire (iirc) 2 stage 5cfm pump. Works great. I purge my iso extracts and any bho I get from my guy for piece of mind.

Absolutely... i recommend getting a pressure gauge on any sealed extractor( closed column, closed loop etc.)

That sounds extremely expensive. You must not use it much.. I couldn't even begin to imagine how many oil changes I would have done if I did this.. I've only ever done 1 on my old Bvv pump and 2 on my yellow jacket in a year

1 gallon pump oil (mineral oil) is cheap. Aboutn20.00 gal. Cheapminsurance changing oil to have a perfectly working pump. Most ppl change the oil after every use. My uses consists of 24 to 72+ hr runs at a time.

Do you have a vacuum regulator? How do you keep the vacuum where you want it and not exceeding 29.5hg running it all day.. and why do you run it non stop I'll just turn mine on every half hour to hour for a couple mins let some air in then pump it back to 29.5"

I wouldn't say most people. I've never met any that does this I think changing your oil after every use is extreme over kill and running it for 24hr+ at a time is unnecessary as well

If it's in there being flipped properly every 2-4 hrs then it has to be depressurized for that flip.
Otherwise that shit is getting the longest purge (5-7 days, some say overkill, I make sure my BHO is virtually tane free) until there is absolutely no bubbling after flips. If you have a proper set up, you can leave it on all the time with nothing bad happening. I am not sure what your using but most Vac chambers can take a lot of pressure and are made that way. Mine stays at around 29.5/30hg and works great all day every day.
However when you only use the pump for a few minutes every couple hours, it's not really purging much of anything. You should be flipping and depressurizing every 2-4, unless your sleeping or your purge process will be longer.

What DB said. Removing the atmosphere before injecting the LPG keeps the system below the Lower Explosive Limits (LEL) of about 1.6%.

Conflagurations/explosions require fuel, oxygen, and an ignition source. Fuel is a given, so we must control the oxygen and ignition sources. Ignition sources can be whimsical and vagrant, sooooo I've come to believe that our best bet is to take our best shot with them, and exclude the oxygen.

The right pump can also be used to fluff the concentrate at the end into cotton candy state for a more through purging insitu.

l discovered the phenomenon by accident and developed the process using a rotary vane pump with the exhaust pumped out of the room, but switched to a pneumatic pump for safety and certification. In that case, we used a Vaccon venturi vacuum on the WolfWurx Mk IVC/VC, to meet NEMA 7, Class I, Div 1 IEC requirements.

As noted, vacuum chambers and ovens use vacuum pumps, as do rotary evaporators and short path distillation units, albeit each with different requirements.

For wet work like cold boiling, a chemical duty pump is required, because the vapors flood and dilute a rotary vane pump gear case, and if you're subsequently recovering them, they are contaminated by passing through the gear case.

For just purging residual LPG in a vacuum chamber/oven, and evacuating extractors, rotary vane pumps work fine, though not all are designed for extended 100% duty cycle and some of the cheaper ones may be short lived on a chamber/oven for that reason.

Short path distillation requires a pump capable of operating below about 50 microns. According to Merck, THC boils at 200C under about 20 microns vacuum.

Our Cascade TEK ovens do have vacuum controllers, but you can also control vacuum by letting your pump run and bleeding N2 in through the back fill valve. It will raise the relative pressure and the N2 atoms will knock residual hydrocarbon molecules loose and pull them with them on the way through and out.

We let our pumps run without stop, but a cotton candy extraction only requires around four hours in the oven at about 115F and -29.5Hg, to be below 10% of FDA Class III residual solvent standards.

I stand by what I said it's not necessary to run a vacuum pump 24+ hrs at a time!

"Because that is some wack facts your just throwing out there."
This doesn't make sense

And if your bringing our vacuum down to 30hg your boiling thc off plain and simple...
I don't need any tips purging I know what I'm doing and yes I do flip every 3-4 hours

@Graywolf could you show us a pic of the "cotton candy" type extracts please?i googled it but all that came up were people extracting from the strain cotton candy.

Here tiz!

I'm the one who named the creation "cotton candy", which I stumbled on by accident because I had no view ports and was guessing at the state in the lower chamber based on pressure and where the ice ring was reforming. Clearly I forgot to inform Google and it hasn't caught on as the currency of the day, but use of the technique is spreading.

Here a peeecture of one of my runs, as well as a link to a WolfWurx Mk IVC in action producing cotton candy for Medizen in NV.

What's the best way to get last bits of candy from your collection pot? (I make a mess of flying shards.) In the past I usually winterized with etoh in a buchner, so easy to empty and clean the pot simultaneously. But think I'm about to switch to inline dewaxing for a while, and those piles of powder going into the oven looks convenient.

I typically stick my collection pot into the freezer for an hour or so, and then stir the foam into a powder, which I pour out onto parchment in trays.

If I plan to winterize, I just wash it out with warm ethanol.

@Graywolf im wondering if you can answer this for me...I was reading somewhere that rosin was way better than bho shatter because it's solventless but I got some what I think is good shatter (prob not as good as yours of course but here in Scotland extracts of any kind or practically impossible to get except a bit of super low grade hash) and it tasted absoloutely great.i was very surprised and I thought if Rosina better than that then it's gotta be some tastey shit so i dry seived up some nugs of the same cut that the bho I had got and liked was made of (bodhis og Nepali x goji f3) and I made some rosin with a bit of drying screen and hair straighteners.it came out ok and I got a decent return for the quality of material I used but wen I done some dabs of it it was actually pretty bland compared to the shatter.i googled it a bit but what I read was kinda conflicting.some thought it was better (I suspect these people hadn't really had good or even decent shatter to compare it too.) and some said shatter was better-taste wise atleast.
In your opinion which retains most terps?solvent extracts or rosin?
