The thing is DeX. I do understand. I just told you I prefer using par as a measurement. It wasn't available for both LEDs in the data sheets I could find on my lunch break. The only variable available for comparison was lumens. Jesus man. Maybe read what I typed?

What explanation is it you think I need?
Something I've known longer than ive been on this forum? Some of my first posts are talking about par and ppfd man.

Look it's simple. The light is say 2700k. If the lumens are 50% higher, by necessity the par (ppfd) will be higher.

I honestly dont get what it is you think you're trying to "explain" to me.

Lol you sound like me when I was younger.

Anyway I did read what you said. Remember your the one going off lumens not me. Who does that? Why even waste your time doing so if you know what par and ppfd is and the limitations of counting only lumens?

Im sure you can see why I was confused. No harm done. If anything it just informed people just a little bit more.

Yeah definitely looking at the 2700k would be for flower only. The only 2700k I can find at that price is prebuilt. Few more days left no the sale, so I'm probably going to get them today or tomorrow. I'm just not keen in Alibaba. No PayPal they want my CC directly...
I was worried at 1st to I used Google pay, hope you find and get what makes you happy cause it really is a pain in the azz.... there's so many diff lights shipping charges and etc... at 1 point I had 3 diff towers running so I could see the diff..... have a great time with this :)

ps. yesterday you should of offer me 100$ you could of got all my stuff and you could of paid with pennies rolls...Have a Good 1 ...

Sound like you when you were young hey? Nice... let's try this another way.

1. Do you think being a passive aggressive jerk is better than an in your face one?

2. Are you saying lumens are a completely invalid measurement of light?

3. Even when its the only measurement available to you at the time?

4. What part of anything I ever said was wrong?

BC
I have done 4 shipments/payments with them under my name but as I said my company has a #, I still Pay With Goggle Pay...... But I have had no problems myself with them ..
But I was worried about it also.. so i used a # with nothing in it... just in case.. So I understand 10000000% where you coming from here... you will find what your looking for, it's just a pain in the back side.......

Well. I guess no quantum boards for me. Alibaba fucking sucks as a website and app.

Wont let me enter my address, wont let me enter payment info, cant get ahold of a real fucking person. So fucking frustrating. Worst website ever.

Well makes me feel a bit better about paying double for my hlg600. Sorry to hear that man.

Me too man. I'll try o e more time when I get home from an actual computer. But it's not looking possible. Their system is so fucked. I've never seen a website that has deep down menus for your fucking address. Drop down menus that dont have your city in them, the biggest fucking city in your province. Vancouver. Not even on the list. Why there is a list who fucking knows. Just let me enter it like any other fucking website I've ever seen.

Cant enter payment info for the same reason.

1. Don’t know. Not trying to be either. This the internet man. Guess basically they both have their place. At end of day I can’t touch you from here and I’m trying to facilitate a learning experience. I find most time if I tell someone they acting like a broad or hoe it goes further from my goal.

2. Pretty much yes. I don’t know why one would only want to know part of the equation when there’s much more to it all. What I see and what’s being emitted and actually used by the plant are two different things. I’m just that partial to having as much info as I can to make a educated decision.

3. I would have looked around more or asked around more. I did see you say you were on your lunchbreak....whoo whoo whoo...but...
I still wouldn’t have wasted MY time comparing lumens and typing it out like that. Then again that’s just me.

4. Nothing until you put more Lumens=more par. Besides that I was just trying to get you and others to not waste time on frivolous things.

If I’m wrong in any of these points I would like it to be explained to me though (if possible). I love to learn. LED is actually new af to me. Maybe been learning for a few months and it’s not easy for me. I did pick a little up here and there though.

I hope you find what your looking for.

Ok then we will talk about 4 first. You admit nothing I said was actually wrong. With the exception of the lumens and par thing.

Are you saying that if one 2700k led puts out 120 lumens and the other puts out 224 lumens, that the par isnt going to be higher with the led that has higher lumens?

You know it's possible to have a light with good par numbers that couldn't grow a plant? All it has to be is ir and uv. Nothing in between. It will read a high par. And then it would kill your plant.

Lumens are the visable light spectrum.
Par is the photosynthetic spectrum
The only real difference is ir and uv. The parts of the spectrum we cant see. Even on the best grow lights these are together less than 5% of the spectrum.

When one single 2700k smd LED has almost double another 2700k smd led, yes the par will be higher. This is how light works man. Maybe you dont understand as much as you think?

So tell me what you think. What par of the spectrum do you think that 80% more light goes to? Remember its 2700k

It's not possible to have a 2700k led with 80% more lumens and not have a higher par.

1 - 3 on the other hand. Well, that would be you just your opinions dressed up to look more valid than any other. As if "that's just me" justifies how you present yourself.

As if "you sound like me when I was younger" isnt passive aggressive.
As if you're not saying " I used to be like you, but I'm better than you now. And maybe one day you will be too".

Maybe you havent changed as much as you think you did? Maybe you dont notice you're still doing it? Again. Refute anything I actually said wrong. I'll accept it if you can show it to me wrong. But spouting your nonsense, then being called out on it, only to admit nothing I was was wrong, and that "that's just me". Isnt winning any arguments. Man. Let's stick to the facts.

You have a problem with lumens as a measurement. I told you I prefer par as well. But if you think vaild information cant be had by it. You dont understand light and how it works.

Prove me wrong please I'd love to know if I was.

See but I’m over here on the other hand thinking any colors could be used to higher the lumens and that doesn’t necessarily mean your getting a higher par. I always try to look at the bigger picture. Spectrum and efficiency (both in power consumption and in available usable protons that my plant CAN use) play a big part in my opinion too. Does that make sense? Cause that’s where my brain takes it.

I hear you on the payment. When I tried to order with my CC it did not go through for me, probably because of an international protection of some sort. I then received a message on the site from Vivi Liu that Kingbrite also accepts PayPal. She sent an invoice to my email and it was smooth sailing from there. I got the light in less than a week. They do respond to inquiry's but just remember the time difference. It's about midnight over there right now.

Any color you increase within the lumens spectrum, necessarily must increase par, since par actually contains the lumens spectrum within it.

Honestly do a bit of research. Look at what is being measured in both par and lumens. Then tell me how you could possibly increase lumens (visable light spectrum) without increasing the par (the entire lumens spectrum plus a sliver of ir and uv. You cant hide it in the uv or ir, cause that's not what lumens are. It has to be in the par spectrum. And if you increase that, you increase your par.

It is impossible to increase lumens, and not increase your par. Prove me wrong.

Thanks man. I'll look in to that when I get home. I seriously hope I can get these.

You can increase green (visible) light without increasing par.

Yes you can increase par but not lumens but you cannot increase lumens and not par.

Imo only. Lumens still works and par is better. If go by lumens you miss the UV and IR spectrum. If you go by par you are accurate. With that said the requirements and the amounts used of UV and IR in lighting for our needs are relatively small but important.

You both right.... 😜

Par is not accurate either. It only measures the humps in blue and red considered usable plant light. (Which is proved incorrect) and lumens only measure the range humans see. Which is mostly in between the humps.

You can adjust either without effecting the other.

For example a blurple lamp can have high par and low lumens.

100% ppfd or pfd should be used to be accurate.

Im thinking of par while including green because we know the original thought of blue red only is bs. I'm not think of it in terms of the meters. But yeah that would make me wrong.
