Looking real impressive so far, way to go man.

Didn't realize that Bud Candy could be used in two different ways. Need to write that one down. Everything else looks solid and those pics are amazing.

Really goes to show what a passionate grower can do when they love what they do and they do their research.

You're someone to watch Shady...nice!

Shady digging your new round. That seed line up is killer. I see you have an SFV, did she come from clone. I've been trying to find some SFV seeds along with Pre 98 Bubba but haven't had any luck.

Your seed catalog is very impressive. I bet it's hard to keep mommies around after they start piling up.

Shady got his 3x3 which is exactly what he needs for this setup:') Let me know what you think of the smart pots. I can't complain, I just can't really compare either:( too hard to tell (hopefully yield will clear this up)...

Keeping an eye on this one now too! Lebster! Hopefully you'll go to one of the upcoming weed shows here and together we can find ourselves in possession of the ever prized Golden Tickets (all access judging tickets)!

Sup trugreens! I really appreciate the very kind words... :) About the Bud Candy... Are you referring to the use of it in soil vs hydro? If you plan on using it in hydro, then you need to add mycorrhizae to help process it and any organic fertilizers... White Shark is the best as it also contains beneficial bacteria.

Lookin good brother :) How long did those shoots take to get those roots?
Thx buddy!!! They took about 1 week to come out the bottom... :( BTW, the Purple Kush is still not liking my soil mix. Ahhh, too bad you're in the bay area cuz I'd love to get my hands on your Ultra Violet cut...

lookin good my dude ill be ridin witya!
Very cool winta!!! It's gonna be a long ride as this grow is going perpetual... :icon_spin:

Hey Socachi... The SFV OG is the bean that I got in my previous round. As with any bagseed from a dispensary... :icon_dizzy: there's always a chance that it was a result of cross pollination.

Variety is definitely "the spice of life"!

Hey CAPO! Man oh man... I wish I had more lights cuz I've got plenty of room. So far, the only way I'll be able to keep a "mother" is to constantly clone a plant and flower the "mother" cuz I don't have enough light to allow them to veg too large... :whew

To be honest though, it's a lot of work searching for killer phenos. Lot's of room needed and yields get sacrificed, but once I have my keepers and a better setup I'll be able to run a tray of just a couple strains...

Looking good bro, can't wait to kick it for this round!! The last round finished up great!!
Whaddup true grit! This one is gonna be a good journal... I've been re-reading yours and learnin' some good stuff. :friday:

Nice Job Shady!! Set ups looking sick dude!!
Ohh GoD... :giggle That's an honor and humbling to say the least... You're setup is killer!!! Definitely a Dream Garden...

Yeah the SFV is hangin' in there so far... To be honest, I'm gonna run out of room in the next 2 weeks and will have to make something happen by next month or these babies are gonna outgrow my Shady Veg Station before my Shady Bloom Room is even ready... :evilgrin

Woo Hoooo... You have no idea how happy I was when I finally fit that 3x3 in my car... :smiley_joint: I almost didn't make it out of the hydro shop, but now I'm golden... especially for Round 5, when I use that tray for a SOG hydro setup.

I'd def be down to check out those weed shows I keep hearing about, but I really never get the details... I'm assuming it's got to be somewhat secure and secret?!?!

Shady Construction…

Let’s see here, on Thursday I finally watered all of the soil plants in the Shady Bloom Room with about 350 PPM of CalMag and the recommended injection amount of Great White
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyBloomRoom0.jpg

This room will look much different after I SCROG the Section B plants and trim the lower canopy for better yields and denser nugs up top…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyBloomRoom1.jpg

A quick shot of the Section A plants w/o the HPS or camera’s white meter, but with the flash and daylight setting (still dreaming of gettin’ a job and a DSLR)…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyBloomRoom2.jpg

Then I did the same watering with CalMag and then White Shark for all of the soil plants in the Shady Veg Station. Four of the shortest plants from the second shelf were finally moved down to the bottom and needed some help reaching the light…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyVegStation-1.jpg

LMAO, last night I thought it would be cool to take a couple shots with my green LED head light. Here’s the Section A and B plants...
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyBloomRoom3.jpg

Well, the Shady Veg Station is gonna need a bigger ebb ‘n flow tray. Since I start my hydro plants in Rapid Rooters and Hydroton with plastic pots, there really isn’t much need to light proof the tray… In fact, if I was gonna do a shallow water culture or bubbler, then I’d def use panda plastic instead of mylar for the bottom. BTW, the Shurtape is see-through, but I thought it looked cool when I was done…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyEnF0.jpg

The supply is ½” and the drain is ¾”…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyEnF2.jpg

I’ll have to make a wedge to raise the opposite corner for proper drainage…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadyEnF1.jpg

Tomorrow, I’ll test the spare pump I have and see how much water will be necessary for the reservoir. If all goes well, the seedlings will be sharing the new tray with the clones currently in the MegaGarden…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadySeedlings1.jpg

So far so good; been alternating watering with R/O and feeding with 200 PPM tea by hand and they’re on their 2nd leaf sets…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadySeedlings0.jpg

Damn, I didn’t realize that the hardware store wouldn’t carry the proper 4 way connectors I needed for my SCROG of the Section B plants…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadySCROG0.jpg

I’m working smarter, not harder. This is a Plastic Pipe and Tubing 1 ¼” Cutter. Just insert the pipe, squeeze firmly and twist until the cut is clean…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadySCROG1.jpg

Tomorrow my Shady Veg Station and Bloom Room will look a bit different. I’ll also be boxing myself into a corner so the Section A plants will get their last solo plant shots before I won’t be able to pull them out…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/ShadySCROG2.jpg

:lipssealed

P.S. This is gonna be a modified SCROG… Big 5” mesh openings so I can pull the net off carefully and another telescoping support screen to keep the colas from falling over during the last couple weeks before harvest.

Section A is starting to come up hard, and It looks like the frost is as well. Is your veg station equipped with t5's or t8's? That green LED headlamp will allow you to do work in the garden at night without worry if I'm not mistaken.

I am very interested to see the end product of your trellis man, and I am definitely digging the DIY ebb and flow tray. Great innovation. A DSLR would be tight to have. I bet your shots would be on a whole other level.

Sup buddy! Yeah, I can't believe Section A is starting Week 5 today... Seems like Round 3 was just completed the other day. :itwasntme

On the veg station, I used T-8's cuz the fixtures were much cheaper than the T-5's... although I like the smaller diameter of the T-5's. Ahhh, I really hope the SCROG works as planned... :smirk

SICK! Pretty frigg'n organized there Shady!! Digg'n it!!

Veg Station Ebb ‘n Flow test
Hmmm, I think the collar is supposed to go on the supply line and not the drain (this will be corrected)… Is silicone the best solution to make a smooth transition into the drain and eliminate the lip from the rubber gasket?
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/VegEnF0.jpg

Shit, I overlooked the fittings and the wire shelf, and I need to add another drain cuz it takes over 8 min to empty…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/VegEnF1.jpg

Just one seedling in the empty tray for the test…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/VegEnF2.jpg

Roughly 10 gal for an empty tray is barely enough, and the 250 gph pump will risk pumping air… Still not sure if another drain will prevent the tray from filling properly (the pump’s flow rate should exceed the total flow rate of all drains).

SFV OG limping to the finish line…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/SFV0.jpg

And healing its wound from my accidental tear during an attempted LST weeks ago (I finally removed my taped splint today)…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/SFV1.jpg

Fuck, it has a bad case of PM due to the insufficient airflow in the corner (couldn’t see this on the back side)…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/SFV2.jpg

So I sprayed the entire Bloom Room with Zone and Penetrator to prevent the remaining plants from contamination (surprisingly, none of the other plants have any signs of PM)…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/PMP.jpg

SCROG Setup
I had cut 2” collars since I couldn’t get the proper 4 way connectors…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/R4Scrog0.jpg

LMAO, I measured 3 times before I made cuts yesterday. The result is a perfect fit in the 3x3 tray which is actually 35” between the bottom inside corners (due to the tapered sidewalls)…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/R4Scrog1.jpg

Gonna put up the nets tomorrow…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/R4Scrog2.jpg

And the top screen will telescope to prevent colas from falling over near harvest…
http://i808.invalid.com/albums/zz2/ShadyRound4/Round%204/R4Scrog3.jpg

:rauch08:

P.S. I’m definitely looking to get a 4x8 tent so I can relocate the bloom room and add a 1K HPS. Seems as though the 4x8 Sun Hut’s actual inside measurements are sufficient to hold a 4x4 Botanicare tray. Anyone know if the Secret Jardin does as well? Still not sure which is better, or maybe I should look into a Grow Lab tent…

Headband 707 - Best at 45 days I think.

Seems like a slow starter… Anyone know the typical flowering durations for the 707 HB?

I don't remember exactly but it was a fast finisher. I think 42 days? 707 Headband is different than Headband OG which is a lot longer. I for sure grew Headband 707 and I think 6-7 weeks is the flower time. I remember a lot of red hairs, but also remember a lot of white crystals, not brown at that early harvest though so I would push to like 45. I know this may sound too fast, but look it up yourself and others may chime in.

I had green crack going on the exact same schedule. Both were harvested early due to my first and hopefully last mite experience. I was so pissed at myself for bringing in some DogTown OG Clones from a terrible coop in Venice. They were Shady too and their clones had crabs (mites). This was my last clone I will ever put in my grows unless something totally tragic happens to my mothers some day.

May your Headband 707 be better than mine, I am sure it will! Due to the barely early harvest, I was unable to leech and my Headband 707 tasted like OG Hay:'(

Sorry to hear about the PM, bummer. I know how you feel, I found a little in my garden too. I used the serenade. Seems to have controlled it.
Does your ebb n flow drain back through the pump after it stops? That's how mine works. I have tried xtra drainage but has never worked for me. Don't know if this helps any. I have a 2x3 botanicare tray I flood with 15 gal., It takes 5 min to flood and 5 min to drain. Here are the pump, tube and fitting I use. My drain is just in case the water gets that high, but the water always drains back through the pump after it shuts off.
Keep up the killer crop!

Sup man! Everything is seems to be going pretty well for ya. keep it up! I Haven't worked with an ebb and flow myself, but i have a fairly decent understanding of the concept. i just don't know the details like the desired flow rate of submersible pumps, flood timing, seals, topping off and adjusting ph of rez. I may try it out in the future though as I already have a 3 x 3 tray. I just need to grab a rez, pump, valves, and tubing. It looks to me like you have your valves set up correctly. what do you mean by collar?

Sorry to hear about the PM is that on the SFV? Do you think it was just airflow reasons or humidity reasons as well? I am liking your trellis. Great design. Can't wait to see it fill out and such.

Now that little picture of the Smart pot and the small root coming out got me really excited. How are those working out for you? I believe you have them in 3gal smart pots in a mix of 50/50 Happy frog/Light warrior? Do you notice the smart pots drying out faster then previous plastic pot grows with the same mix? What is it like watering those smart pots, got any tips? Man those interest me greatly.

Yeah... Thx for the confirmation M.S.T. I was just off on the timing cuz I had too much drain line that needed to be cut to length... The setup was correct and the same as yours. ;) As for the PM... I'll be fine as I battled it through Round 3...:fighting0040:

I just need to grab a rez, pump, valves, and tubing. It looks to me like you have your valves set up correctly. what do you mean by collar?
Yeah, I actually had it setup correctly... I was just impatient. The collar is just a plastic cylinder that extends the elevation of the drain. Therefore the overflow drain is just that... meaning no water flows in that drain unless there is an overflow. So the supply really is the main drain as well.

Sorry to hear about the PM is that on the SFV? Do you think it was just airflow reasons or humidity reasons as well? I am liking your trellis. Great design. Can't wait to see it fill out and such.
It's just poor airflow from a half-assed setup... me being cheap and not getting a properly sized exhaust fan and using 2 smaller ones. When I finally get some money I'll be able to do it right. Until then I'm making certain priority upgrades as I evolve...

Now that little picture of the Smart pot and the small root coming out got me really excited. How are those working out for you? I love the Smart Pots. They don't seem to dry out faster... just more evenly thoroughout. My only tip is to water very slowly and in a couple lifts to let the water absorb instead of coming out the sides too quickly. :cool

I'm likin ythe PVC idea more and more Shady, and everything looks awesome as usual.
Thx my friend... :itwasntme I actually got the idea from many other farmers here like Jackmayoffer, Rolln J, and LEBDOG, Garden of Dreams,... all use a similar variation of the PVC and screen.

Shady!!! Believe me Bro! Soon! Dig your style, Your organization and your attention to detail! I got your Resume and your GL's speak for themselves. Keep on keep'n on!!
