So, what percentage of males should I expect from your seeds?
I'm considering transplanting 2-3 plants into a 20 gal. bag and then thinning when the boys show up.
What do ya think? Keep in mind my seedlings are 2" tall compared to your half grown ones.

I always assume a 70% male rate even though it's rarely that high. Out of four PB2 x haymeadow I started I had 2 and 2.

The banjo x haymeadow has been a 7/10 male rate though between me and capt.

You got a ,50/50 shot with each seed, but in actuality that rarely means a straight 50/50 split when working with smaller numbers

You could very likely end up with two females in one planter and no plants in another lol.

Im just gonna put mine into 1 or 1.5 gallon pots. And they should all be sexed by the time they out grow those. I'll be putting my fem seeds direct Into ground as small plants with a chick wire cage around em like last year

Pb3 struttin' that columbian sativa heritage hard. They have this "spikey" vibe to em. Thinking this plant prob has some destiny with that drop dead gorgeous PB2 x haymeadow purps male.

These three alien Rider reg autos and this strawberry gorilla fem Auto are about to go spend their first night outside in ground. I won't be breaking up the root ball or anything, just planting them and give em a decent feeding. Will be all compost blood meal and bone meal from then on out.

IMG 20250509 205647237

They'll be fine or they won't. They'll have chick wire cages on em.

These alien riders are a lot bigger than I expected them to be by now. The strawberry gorilla is smaller then I expected by now.

Prob gonna cut these two this weekend actually, I want to get back on my every 4-5 week tent harvest schedule. Which means getting his tent back into 12/12 with new plants by 2-3 weeks from now. They had a rough go about it anyway

Def shouldn't be a problem. Got 4 more itching for a chance to get laid. Maui86, special Queen, haymeadow purps, and M86 x haymeadow purps. They need an up potting and some pruning and training and I'd like to get that done in the tent they're flowering out in

I've made peace that I don't have. Banjo x Columbian or mango x haymeadow clone. I have more of those beans still.

Got the strawberry gorilla and the three alien riders in ground last night. Looking pretty happy today. Both got planted in old flattened out compost piles that never got used for garden beds. Should work great. Soil test shows a 6.6ph.

Got he planter for the freakshow filled up with some composted manures, flood loam, and local topsoils. Should work great. A little bit of miracle grow moisture control soil got mixed in because it was there and wasn't being used for anything. Not much, like two handfuls

Cutting the banjo x Columbian and mango x haymeadow tonight to make room for more plants and so I can get the two tent cycle back on schedule. This was a pretty rough run anyway.

Mango x haymeadow. Look and smell both is straight Kush. Small, but rock hard and heavy nugs

Banjo x Columbian. Smell is straight pineapple slices and lifesaver gummies. Wish I had a clone, but I have more beans of this cross still

And a fresh trim fast dried maui86 sample because I haven't smoked in a couple days. Wanted to dry out a bit for a clean smoke on the Maui buds.

I'm leaving the newbies out in it unless hail starts to fall. Let em get a little taste of the real world etc. setup to drain thoroughly. I'll put a bit of food back in the cups after the rains.

So, crossing an Auto with an Auto...
Seeds are Auto? Or regular? Or Fast Photos?
No it's a dominant trait they'll all be autos with an auto x auto thing pretty reliably. That alien riders probably going to get brought inside as a clipped flower stalk in a cup of water dropping on some foil if I get pollen off of him.

Even if you pollinate a photo with a male autoflower 3/4 or so of your offspring are going to autoflower still, it may just happen a bit later on in their life. And that other quarter will have revenge issues at the drop of a hat with the slightest transitional stress

I don't even want to let autoflower pollen be given the opportunity to potentially pollinate the local wild hemp here lol

Thank you! Now that makes sense. I wondered why people would want reg. Auto seeds.
yessm. So you dont have to keep buying them. If ya wanna make a clutch of all fems just bust out some colloidal silver and cross two of your favorite female auto strains off in the corner of the yard somehwhere. Female pollen is only like 1 in 10 grains viable, and dies in sunlight exposure or high humidity in a few mins if it doesnt find a pistil somewhere lol. Thats not going to make it into any wild genepools anywhere unless its growing right next to it.

if you remember me harping on and on about how unfortunate it is when autoflower pollen makes it into photo gene pools by accident, thats why. Its a dominant trait. It doesnt have to be present in both parents to pass it on in high number, just one of them. Thats why we went from seedbank autos being pretty dirt weed, to them being damn near as high qulity flower as anything in like 10 years of time breeding, where as it took us 50 years to get the drug strain land races to where they are today by steering recessive traits on photo period plants.

A single poorly placed autoflower genetic hermie, or male plant, can genuinely permanently ruin years and years of photoperiod breeding work in a single unfortunate pollination if the wrong place wrong time aspect is bad enough, and you dont catch it til later on when trying to grow the seed.. And thats why not many breeders work with both at the same time too, and why i gotta be super careful how i handle this since im wanting to bring male photo pollen inside to a tent, and have male auto pollen outside, but long gone before any wild hemp is flowering this fall. Theres a lot of wild hemp down here in the valley by the tracks and streams.

And i gotta make damn sure i dont get any male auto pollen into my inside tent because ill be bringing pb2 x haymeadow male pollen inside top hit my pb3 pheotype to make the next generation of peaceblasters.

Today's lesson for the newbies: shit happens. Get over it.

Such is life in the real world. As we must all learn first hand.

They'll be fine, they'll be better plants for it in the end 👍💚
