Yeah that’s where I read it. So much stuff we just don’t know. I’d love to hear your thoughts once you wrap your head around it.

For me it means that I am trying something new with my tlc testing. I’m hoping if I use a larger sample do a 2x drop size and 4x plate size doubling the length I can get more separation and maybe detect some of this stuff. That and leaving at least part of the plant in the tent way past normal harvest time.

it is starting to explain some things for me to grasp all this - I’ve been trying to put a puzzle together without all the pieces.

The eternal cannabis koan of why some strains that are high in measurable cannabinoids don't always hit like it? And the flip side of that where some landraces will put a Runtz smoker's dick in the dirt despite being like 15%?

Me too, except for a combination of THC (40%), CBD (25%), and CBN (35%) being better for sleep than any single strain I've tried.

That Wedding Cake x ON Haze is a trichome dumper. It's obviously not super pure, but this is mostly from like 5 or 6 buds of the WCxON.

There's been a lot of action in the differentiating tent. So far there's been one lady Baked Strawberry Ghash and 5 dudes, with the last plant in there looking like another dude. Weird luck on those ones for sure.

Yeah, my tolerance is pretty stupid alright. Tore a few things in my ankle last week and ate 500mg and did a monster dab to start, then more later. Keeping a rotation of strains is key so tolerance to one doesn't build up, along with keeping a level of edibles going throughout the day.

Favorite strain so far honestly has been G13 Hazeplant, it's one that I consistently run out of before I get tired of it. Neplama from USC is definitely recommended for a more mellow, unique high. I don't think GSC is a bad strain per se, but Cookies being in damn near everything plays a big role with tolerance in my opinion.

I'm kinda on the hunt for minor cannabinoids myself, actually. The stuff with CBD that I've grown has been hit or miss, while my only experience with Thcv is Golden Tiger and maybe these Congo that are going now. Haven't done anything with CBG yet either, but that's in the works for this year.

I was hoping it would at least steer the high one way or another but for me it was essentially inert. Now the others like CBN are the real deal imo.

I personally had such high hopes for the CBG I grew and your distillate (which I trusted to be far more potent than my little green). I wish weed was a whole lot cheaper and I grew it a whole lot better and much larger quantities 😂.

That distillate was tested as pure CBG. It's supposed to have potentially helpful qualities like this if you believe it:

CBG works by binding to both receptors where it’s thought to strengthen the function of anandamide, a neurotransmitter that plays a role in enhancing pleasure and motivation, regulating appetite and sleep, and alleviating pain. Unlike THC, CBG has no psychotropic effects, so it will not give you a high.

My issue is that how do you dose it and measure any effect - and how do you account for potential placebo?

What is CBG?​

Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid typically most abundant in low-THC and high-CBD cannabis strains, including hemp. Like THC, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBG, however, acts as a buffer to the psychoactivity of THC by working to alleviate the paranoia sometimes caused by higher levels of THC.

CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. Research has shown it also significantly reduces intraocular eye pressure caused by glaucoma. Strains high in CBG will be beneficial treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, and cancer.

Effects and Benefits​

Research has shown that CBG is effective in the treatment of a variety of symptoms and conditions. Examples of conditions for which CBG is particularly effective in providing symptom relief are listed below:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cancer
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Irritable bowel syndrome



I think what happened on my end was that I read that it helps with inflammation. Hoped for the best. Tried it. No response. But there are so many variables to test like dosages and how long you have to dose to see effects that maybe it would be if I did it right? But I know ibuprofen works great for me so why bother? Cool to experiment with tho.
