Keep pushin them boundaries. Right ON! Lookin killer man.
Thx M.S.T.! I'm about to out grow my Shady Veg Station soon. Gonna have to do some natural selection on the bottom shelf... :cool
...see shade, blowin up at the farm. Congrats, your rounds are looking way better and on point. Def doing your thang!
Finally got you to bless my journal at the Farm. :giggle I'm just giving you a hard time... I owe you many thanks for all the help in soil and when you're ready, I'll def help you in hydro...
Great looking stuff going on here man. I like that Chemdog lineage chart. It is very interesting to inspect. I am also digging your mind chart of photosynthesis. It makes me want to improve my knowledge about how it works. I have to admit I am also little jealous of your guys with your Calculus abilities and such. You are seriously making me want to up my knowledge.
Hey brah! I'm glad you stopped by and I look forward to hearing about your coco research... Yeah, seems as though we aren't gonna get much comments on the
Chemdog chart... Hmmm, I guess it must be correct. :lipssealed And to be quite honest, after 10 years being a Construction Manager I would def need a few refresher courses to remember my calculus... :nerd
Fantastic man! Every thing looks perfect. You are really getting dailed now brother! Is that top net for the top canopy? Do you run your light 12" from the canopy? Remind me what you wattage is on your lights. I am just curious, because I get some belaching with my 1000w lights with anything closer than 18"
Thx my friend! My 600W Horitlux Super HPS is generally 18" to 22" from the top colas cuz I've angled it to hit the Section A plants, and the plan was for the top net to slide down when I need the cola's supported. In reality, the bottom net should have been put on much earlier. So the top net may not even be necessary, but we shall see in about 5 wks... :friday:
I completely agree with you, the reduced light intensity also goes along with the trend in the nature at least for the most part. I don't notice any bleaching during the veg or first 3 weeks of bloom, i run 1x600 a/c w/ 6'' 430 cfm exhaust fan, i get as close as 6'' with the 600 during veg and the 430 the plants almost touch the glass during veg.
Thanks for sharing your experience Raider, since i am inexperienced in this department, your similar observation gave excellent conformation to track i was thinking on.
Sorry Shady mate for the quick hijack. Please let me know if you allow this sort of thing in your log.
I have no prob discussing these topics... I often hijack my buddies threads... just ask R. Face and Justiceman... :D I've asked them a ton of questions... it's good cuz it gets us to think.
I'm a bit surprised that you can actually get that close in veg HT... As for flowering, I've burned the tip of a cola before when the lights were around 12" uncooled... That was in Round 1 w/o an air cooled hood, so I figure once Section A is done, I can get that light to about 12" from the colas and the top net will be a few inches below...
I honestly think the bleaching that you and Raiderfan420 are discussing is more likely a nutrient burn due to a salt imbalance... Remember during bloom you are hitting your girls with high PPM's and salts are building up in the medium and the plants, unless you find that balance a flush around 4 weeks seems to be the trick to avoid it...
Feel free to post a couple leaf shots if you got them... :sign0005:
Sup GrizzleB!!! Glad you made it to the Farm! Lots of info and some killer beans on the Bay if you got a fast internet connection and good reflexes. :fighting0085:
Hey Bro, can you tell me how to re-name my link in my signature. I can't for life of me figure it out. Thanks
Sure... Here's the instructions and I edited your link and sent it to you via PM...
Start by copying the entire web address of your journal, then paste it into Word...
It's real easy to edit the HTML link in Microsoft Word. Here's the instructions:
Editing a Hyperlink in Microsoft Word
When you type a Web address in Microsoft Word, it automatically inserts a Hyperlink to the Web page. This can be handy when you’re distributing documents electronically.
Unfortunately, Word doesn’t always get the Web address correct. Or, you may decide you want to change the displayed text.
Fortunately, there is an easy way to edit Hyperlinks in Microsoft Word:
1. Right-click the Hyperlink
2. The Edit Hyperlink dialog box appears
3. To change the Web address, make your changes in the Address box
4. To change the text that is displayed, make your changes in the box labeled Text to display
5. You can remove the Hyperlink by clicking Remove Link
6. Click OK when your changes are complete
:whew I'm glad I saved those instructions...
Please PM me or Shady to avoid Hijacking his post any further if you need any more assistance.
LMAO... No worries LEBDOG. That's like the pot calling the kettle black... Remember when we first met... :evilgrin I don't mind it at all. In this context we can all learn something from discussions. Now for the bud porn...
Shady Bud Shots…
Section A
Hmmm, I haven’t watered the plants since they were fed on Monday and the very small amount of water with the
Great White the other day… I haven’t flushed any of Section A or B either… Section A begins Week 7 today and Section B begins Week 5. Any suggestions? I plan on just feeding them tomorrow…
SFV OG (clearly the bag seed genetics aren’t the same as the real deal)…

707 Headband’s hairs are turning, but I hope she continues to pump out some white ones after I hit her and the rest of Section A hard with Hammer Head tomorrow…

Seedlings
Two weeks ago I started my DIY ebb n’ flow at 480 PPM, 5.9 pH… At the end of the first week the PPM’s drifted to 6.2 and the PPM’s were at 510. So I added enough acid to drop the pH down to 5.76. Today the res was finally lower by 2 gal and I noticed root aphids once again hanging around in my tray. I added 2 gal of R/O with 2 ml/gal of
CalMag, 6 ml/gal of Zone, and more acid to top off my res at 500 PPM and 5.65 pH. Soon after I did two floods one hour apart there were dead aphids… So far so good, but I may add more Zone in a couple days depending on how the plants are doing. Here are the seedlings…

I also did a very light spray on the Shady Bloom Room with BioNeem, and just drenched the Shady Veg Station heavily at lights out. I also flooded the ebb ‘n flow tray before the drench (I have only been using two flood cycles during the day when the lights turn on at 7 am and one at 6 pm… I find that this is perfect in veg). Hahaa I think the Hot Shots disturbed the borg, so I brought it out tonight again. I will pick-up some
diatomaceous earth and SM-90 for the soil plants tomorrow.
