Nutrient charts are written for ideal conditions and to move product. Members commonly start at 50 to 75 percent of the chart and raise it only when the plants show they want more. Burnt leaf tips are the first sign you've gone too far.
It scales every amount on the chart. 50 percent gives half of each product. The EC you measure will drop by about the same proportion, plus whatever your plain water already reads.
Pick one base nutrient line and stick with it. Base lines are balanced to work on their own. Adding another brand's additives is common, but add one thing at a time and check EC and pH after each.
Every calculator works in either. The charts on these pages are shown per US gallon, the way most US brands publish them. One US gallon is 3.785 liters.
