Notes from the chart

  • Amounts are mL per US gallon, from Advanced Nutrients' USA Top Shelf and Master recipes.
  • Week 1 can be repeated for clones and seedlings. For a longer veg, repeat grow week 4. If your plants flower longer than 8 weeks, repeat bloom week 4.
  • Mix the water thoroughly after adding each product.
  • Advanced Nutrients says to cut base nutrient strength by 25 percent if you see tip burn. Bloom week 8 is a nutrient-free flush with Flawless Finish only.
  • pH Perfect bases are sold as self-buffering. Many growers here still check pH, especially with tap water.

Common questions

Top Shelf or Master recipe?

Top Shelf is the base plus Advanced Nutrients' core add-ons. Master adds every product they recommend, including root expanders, Rhino Skin, Bud Factor X, Tasty Terpenes and Sensizym. The base amounts are the same in both.

Do I need all the Advanced Nutrients add-ons?

No. The Sensi A and B bases carry the nutrition. The add-ons are optional. Use the switch in the calculator to see the bases alone. Several members run only the bases plus one or two boosters.

Do I still need to check pH with pH Perfect?

Advanced Nutrients sells pH Perfect as self-buffering. Many growers here still check it, especially on tap water or alkaline water, and adjust if it drifts out of range.

Why does the calculator start at 75 percent?

Advanced Nutrients itself says to cut base strength by 25 percent if you see tip burn, and members commonly run around three-quarter strength. Raise it if your plants want more.
